I really enjoy trying out the latest fragrances. Recently, I have come across My Insolence by Guerlain. It is likely that you have probably seen advertisements for this fragrance, in which Hillary Swank is the celebrity whose face promotes My Insolence. I found this a bit strange at first, mainly because the perfume is very feminine. Hillary Swank is the celebrity who I picture to be the least feminine. I am not, by any means, saying that I dislike Hillary Swank. It is just the fact that her roles in movies such as Boys Don’t Cry and Million Dollar Baby are less than girly. Now, on to the perfume. Here is what I think of My Insolence by Guerlain.
My Insolence by Guerlain is a Bit Pricey
For a 1.7 oz bottle of My Insolence by Guerlain, you will pay about $62. In my opinion, this is a bit pricey. If you wanted the same 1.7 oz bottle of Armani Code for women, you would only pay $55. In my opinion, you cannot even begin to compare My Insolence by Guerlain to Armani Code. As far as prices go, if I had to take my pick, it would definitely not be My Insolence. You can also purchase My Insolence body lotion or body cream. I give this perfume 2 stars as far as price goes.
My Insolence by Guerlain is Very Sweet
I have found that I really love sweet-smelling perfumes. This is one of the things that I really do enjoy about My Insolence by Guerlain. While there are hints of berry scents in this sweet fragrance, I do not feel that My Insolence is overly fruity. Overall, I definitely would have to say that it is an ideal perfume for anyone who likes something that is sweet, but not too fruity. For the overall scent of sweetness, I give this perfume 4.5 stars.
My Insolence by Guerlain is Very Light
It is hard to find a sweet-smelling perfume that is heavy, although they do exist. A good example would be Britney Spear’s perfume Fantasy. My Insolence by Guerlain is probably one of the lightest sweet-smelling fragrances that I have ever smelled. My Insolence is an ideal choice for anyone who does not want to offend anyone with a strong perfume or for anyone who does not enjoy strong perfumes themselves. Since it so light, I would personally describe My Insolence as a fairly sophisticated perfume. For lightness, I give My Insolence 5 stars.
My Insolence by Guerlain Has a Cute Bottle
I really love perfume bottles for some reason. There have been cases in which I have bought a perfume that I did not even like because the bottle was so pretty. Although the My Insolence by Guerlain bottle is cute, I do not think that it is that amazing. I have seen nicer perfume bottles and I have seen worse perfume bottles. I give the bottle 3 stars, as it is average.
The Verdict
Overall, I think that My Insolence by Guerlain is a very nice, sweet perfume. It is one of the lightest, most sophisticated perfumes that I have smelled in awhile. It is ideal for anyone who likes sweet perfumes that are not too fruity or heavy. At the same time, however, I think that it is a little bit pricey as far as perfumes go. Overall, I give this perfume about 3.5 stars, mainly because it is costly and cannot compare to other perfumes, such as Armani Code for women but because it does not smell bad.
