Monster Mini Golf in Danvers, Massachusetts

Mini Golf

Monster Mini Golf in Danvers, Massachusetts, is one of many franchise locations that features an indoor mini golf course. This blacklight mini golf course has bright colors and neon paints to stimulate children young and old. The music played here is awesome and avoids all the overplayed sugar pop music that the local radio plays repeatedly. There are monster like creatures strewn all over the course, but only two of them actually wake up. I think if there were more monsters, the scare factor would be a lot better.

$7.50 for a round of 18 holes isn’t bad, especially on a day with nothing to do. Definitely a lot cheaper than a movie!

The course seems to be all flat and continuous but upon speaking to one of the workers, I learned the course is designed like that purposely to allow access to handicap individuals. I think this is really great because the regular mini golf courses in the summer have very little accessibility for disabled individuals, especially those in wheel chairs. Another positive that I enjoyed as opposed to the outdoor courses, is the course and the entire place was very clean, pretty much spotless from what I could see. It’s nice to be able to play on a mini golf course without leaves or puddles of water hindering your golf putt.

After, or before, you attempt a round of mini golf, there are a variety of ticket games and video games to capture your entertainment. They even have Pac Man!! Once your handful of quarters are replaced by those shockingly pink Monster Mini Golf tickets, head on up to the redemption counter to pick out your prize! There are not too many options for older people, but the wide selection of prizes guarantee something for all children. I also saw a large amount of inflatable toys, which seem to always be a hit. Or if you have the guts, pick up a pooping dog keychain!

I also noticed that Monster Mini Golf holds birthday parties. If you have a monster party, you get to dip your hand in glow in the dark paint and make your handprint a permanent part of Monster Mini Golf’s Monster Wall. They also decorate with your name and birthday so everyone knows it is your hand print. Myself and the group I was with peeked into the party rooms. Expecting to find an empty room with a table and chairs, we were pleasantly surprised to find a fully haunted mansion style room decorated entirely in cool monster decorum. My favorite part was the creepy looking fireplace. I grabbed the brochure to look at prices and realized that the parties were not that expensive and actually relatively cheaper than the Monkey Joe’s right down the plaza way. Although a great place for kids to hang out during the day, I bet it would be even cooler to hang out after hours with an exclusive VIP party!!!!

So overall Monster Mini Golf was a pretty good experience and I would recommend it for those days that there is nothing to do. If you want to be really challenged at mini golf, this isn’t the place for you, but if you have some free time and kids to entertain, this is the place to go!!!

I give it 4.5 stars out of 5!

P.S. A little tip, Don’t wear black, unless you want to see how much lint you are really covered in. Wear white so you glow in the dark as well
