Miniature Golfing in Atlanta

Gwinnett, Gwinnett County

So, you’re looking for a good time for you and your family but you really don’t have 60 bucks to spend at Sizzler and a movie for 3 or 4 people. Why don’t you look into the under appreciated world of miniature golf? It’s affordable, it gets you outside and moving, and it will absolutely entertain you and your family for a good day or more depending on which of these golf courses you decide to patronize.

Pirate’s Cove Adventure Golf

The original Gwinnett County miniature golfing theme park, Pirate’s Cove Adventure Golfing houses 27 holes of high seas fun. This course was voted Atlanta Journal’s “Best in Atlanta” and Gwinnett County Chamber’s “Best Miniature Golf Course” and for good reason. They provide a friendly atmosphere where you can go have fun with your kids, go on a casual date, or just relax. Their staff is professional and they strive to provide you with the best miniature golfing experience possible. And when you’re all done golfing, you can stop by their gift shop and arcade and buy some ice cream and booty of the loot variety.

They have two course selections available, Blackbeard’s Challenge and the 27-Hole Adventure. Adults are only $7.00 and children get in for just $6.00. So if you want a family outing that won’t rip off your arms and legs at the end of the day, come to the Pirate’s Cove and they’ll set you up for fun.

Monster Mini-Golf

Monster Mini-Golf provides you with a scream of a good time. Keeping with their monster (but not monstrous) theme, Monster Mini has every kind of creature imaginable from cuddly ogre bears to things with strange amorphic bodily shapes and to top it all off the whole theme park glows in the dark! My inner-child beams at this fact. The monsters aren’t anything too scary, though, as it is a family oriented establishment and they don’t want to scare the kids, or you.

They house the standard 18 holes, and admission is based on, of all things, height. Depending on how tall you are, the prices can range anywhere from $5.50, $6.50 or $7.50 per person. The adult price ($7.50) is based on the average 11 year-old. So if you’re under 5ft tall, you’re going to make out great. Either way, though, it’s a great deal for a place so fun.

Along with miniature golf, Monster Mini has an arcade and air hockey with some great ticket redemption prizes. They also have their own radio station W.I.R.D. – Weird Radio – and sometimes a live DJ will be there giving away prizes for any crazy things you think to do while playing your game.

Mountasia

For the folks who want to expand their golfing experience to something a little more than just putt putting around, there’s Mountasia, a family fun park which includes miniature golf, go karts, bumper cars, and a snack bar to re-energize after a day of releasing your inner-child to play with your kids.

Currently they have a spring special running and it’s only $12.00 for unlimited miniature golf and video games, which is a great package for parents who want to entertain a child with moderate ADD (such as myself). They also have birthday specials where you or your child play for free given that it is your birthday. And for those kids out there who want to have fun with Mom during the month of May, mothers play free thanks to Mountasia cashing in on the nation’s homage to motherhood.

There are three 18 hole golf courses, each a little crazy in its own miniature golfing way. Adults are $6.99 and children are only $5.99, so get on over to Mountasia and have yourself a golf ball.
