Mineral Fusion Cosmetics: Product Review

Fusion

If you are a big fan of all natural make-up and highly value make-up made with the fewest possible, highest quality, and most beneficial ingredients, then I actually don’t recommend Mineral Fusion Cosmetics. While they advertise as being all natural there are, unfortunately, a few unnecessary synthetics found in their ingredients lists. However, that being said, the makers of Mineral Fusion Cosmetics also add dozens of antioxidants that aren’t necessarily found in other natural make-up brands. Therefore, all in all, I can recommend some of Mineral Fusion’s products to the all natural make-up enthusiast, but not all of the products. I can especially recommend it if you particularly enjoy a wide range of make-up colors that are very difficult to find in other natural make-up brands.

Mineral Fusion Cosmetics is a proud donor to the Pink United Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The company is most known for including a “W.R.A.P. of antioxidants” into their cosmetic formulas. W.R.A.P. is an acronym for the four antioxidant groups they include. The antioxidant groups include: 1) White tea under the ingredient name Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract because it boosts skin cells’ immune functions and protects skin cells from sun damage; 2) Red tea under the ingredient name Aspalathus Linearis Leaf Extract because it has natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties and tightens and smoothes the skin, thus providing anti-aging properties as well; 3) Antileukine 6® under the name Laminaria Ochroleuca Extract from plants that controls photo-aging, balances hydration, and protects cells’ DNA integrity; and 4) Pomegranate under the ingredient Punica Granatum. Pomegranate contains polyphenols and ellagic acid which fight against free radicals. The antioxidants found in Mineral Fusion Cosmetics surround your skin cells with daily protection.

For those of you who are true all natural make-up enthusiasts, all of Mineral Fusion’s products contain at least a few synthetic ingredients, rather than being 100% all natural. Synthetics are found in all of the foundation products, the concealers, the eye shadow products, the mascara, and all of the lip products. Even petroleum based products are found in the lip pencils, lip sticks, and mascara. Hence, if you are an individual who is particularly sensitive to chemicals and petrochemicals, then, regardless of the antioxidants, I wouldn’t recommend these cosmetics for everyday use. Instead, I would recommend a cosmetic line, like Gabriel Cosmetics, which is 100% all natural, without even a trace of unnecessary synthetics.

On the other hand, if you a person who really enjoys a wide range of colors and keep your vanity draws stuffed with a rainbow, or at least a medley of different colors and different looks, then Mineral Fusion Cosmetics offers some very beautiful colors that other natural make-up companies, like Gabriel Cosmetics Inc., do not offer. The one criticism I have of Gabriel Cosmetics Inc. is that the founder Gabriel really needs to expand his color lines and even improve his presentation. Gabriel does not offer any coordinated eye shadow color combinations that make life so simple and nice.

Mineral Fusion Cosmetics does offer coordinated eye shadow trio sets that give you a fully coordinated highlight, base, and contour. Not only that, Mineral Fusion offers eye shadow with a lot of shimmer tones including golds and bronzes. My particular favorite is the eye shadow trio “Stunning” which offers a shimmery butter yellow, and a shimmery gold and bronze. Mineral Fusion also offers a few lipsticks with some shimmer tones including a shimmery pink called “Flashy” and more gold lipstick called “Impressive.” They also offer more neutral colors than I’ve seen elsewhere.

So, while I wouldn’t recommend Mineral Fusion for everyday use, I definitely recommend adding some of these fabulous colors to your color collection. Mineral Fusion Cosmetics can be purchased exclusively at Whole Foods grocery stores or online. Also, for a full listing of their products, take a look at the Mineral Fusion website.
