Toss Across is basically Tic Tac Toe with a more gnarly interactive twist than the original paper and pen version of the game.
Toss across is basically a large platform with rotating blocks on them. On the blocks you have an X or an O. You have to toss bean bags at the rotating blocks to reveal the X or O. If an opponent is one away from winning, you can toss your bean bag at their letters to spin them to your letter. This makes the game not only more difficult, but ten times more fun.
Toss Across is normally meant to be played by two people, you can however form tag teams and play with as many people as you’d like. Larger groups make the game all the more fun.
Our Use:
Toss Across has been around apparently since I was a child. I had no idea that the game was even being made anymore, yet here it was as broad as daylight sitting in my sisters back yard.
Immediately I gathered up my niece and nephew to do battle with me.
As a kid I remember Toss Across being a ton of fun, but at the same time frustrating because at times when you would throw your bean bag at a certain block, instead of landing on an X or an O, it would land upright in sort of a roof like way, not allowing that block to be an X or an O.
The other aspect that makes the game frustrating is the fact that your opponent will constantly be trying to ruin your line formation of letters. All in all it could take up to 15 or 20 minutes to complete just one game.
This could either keep kids busy, or annoy them till they finally call it quits.
With that aside though, Toss Across provided us with a nice amount of fun. We went at it trying to wipe out X and O line formations, and had a few good laughs every time the letter blocks landed the wrong way (roof).
I also feel that Toss Across helps with hand and eye coordination.
What I loved most about Toss Across was the fact that it got my niece and nephew outside. They spend a lot of their time indoors playing video games, so it was nice to see them toss the video controllers to the side, to come out and play Toss Across.
Overall:
Although Toss Across is not a perfect game, it is a good one nonetheless. It kept my niece and nephew busy for a good half hour. We had fun playing, and it got them outdoors, which is really the best thing about the game.
I recommend Toss Across to just about anyone. Young and old alike will enjoy playing Toss Across.
