Marie Osmond’s Son’s Death Ruled Suicide

As of Sunday, CNN is reporting that Marie Osmond’s son’s death has been officially ruled a suicide. The death is in the hands of the Los Angeles County coroner’s office. They refuse to release any further information at this time.

At just under 18 years of age, Michael jumped from his apartment window. Popeater reports that his roommates were suspicious, but before they even had time to check on Michael they heard sirens responding to 911 calls from the street where Blosil fell.

According to ETOnline, Michael Blosil left a note explaining his need to escape a life of depression.

Undoubtedly, such a note from one of her own children must be the most difficult thing Marie Osmond has ever had to read or hear. One of the most difficult things in life to endure has to be a child preceding their parent in death.

A Press Agent for the Osmond family requested that the family be given time to work through their grief, which being interpreted means they request that the media and paparazzi not hound them as they cope with Michael’s suicide.

Michael is one of Marie Osmond’s 8 children with ex-husband Brian Blosil. Michael is one of the five the two adopted during their twenty year marriage.

In the 70s, Marie and Donny Osmond were beacons of purity, enjoying stardom and sharing their music without drowning in an industry known for taking down many of its most famous stars. This time it wasn’t the star that went down, but, sadly, her son.

Marie Osmond’s life has not been idealistic. The mom who now endures heartbreaking grief has endured many trials throughout her life. During her recent stint on Dancing with the Stars Marie Osmond admitted to People, following a fainting spell, that she was going through a divorce, her father was sick, and that she had a child who was “struggling,” she was talking about Michael.

Psychologically, Marie Osmond and the family will question and reflect on whether there was anything more they could have done to prevent this tragic event. Sadly, it is over and cannot be undone. Our thoughts and prayers are sent to the Osmond family as they navigate this difficult time.
