Makeup Looks: Bronze Goddess

Eyeshadow Primer, Foundation Primer, Makeup Look, Pressed Powder

After a long day at work, you decide you want to head home to relax. As you go to check your mail, you notice a big envelope. You pick up the envelope and break it open, only to see a wedding invite. The wedding is only in a few weeks and although you have an idea of what dress you will be wearing, you are clueless when it comes to how you will wear your makeup. When attending a wedding, you want to create a makeup look that is not only inspiring, but makes a statement too. Let’s get started!

FACE

First and foremost, you want to begin by applying your foundation primer. For this look, I used Elizabeth Arden’s Visible Difference Good Morning Retexturing Primer.

As you continue, you will want to apply your foundation followed by your concealer. For this particular look, I used Mac’s Studio Fix Fluid foundation in NC42 followed by Mac’s Select Cover Concealer in NC42.

To set my foundation and concealer, I decided to use Cover Girl’s Clean Pressed Powder in Soft Honey 155.

Bronzer is the most important beauty essential in this look because it brings everything together. After contemplating and debating what bronzer I wanted to use, I decided to go with Urban Decay’s Baked Bronzer in Gilded.

I wanted my skin to have a nice yet natural dewy finish to it, so once I was done applying my bronzer I decided to apply Benefit’s Sun Beam all around the T-zone area of my face.

EYES

You want the eyes to be dramatic, but yet still pop. I didn’t want to do a real intense smoky eye, so I went with a series of gold eyeshadow shades and dark liner.

Let’s begin with the eyebrows. For the Bronze Goddess Wedding Inspired Makeup look, I decided to go with Rimmel’s Professional Eyebrow Pencil in Dark Brown 001.

Any time you wear any eye makeup, you really should wear a primer simply because it will prevent creasing, fading, and flaking. For this makeup look, I decided to go with Urban Decay’s Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Greed.

To create the Bronze Goddess Wedding look, I decided to use Mac’s Gorgeous Gold as my main eyeshadow, Mac’s Diamond Dove as the darker eyeshadow, followed by the highlight, in which I chose Nylon. If you currently do not own these shades, there are plenty of great dupes for them.

Taking my Mac 215 brush, I am going to brush Gorgeous Gold all over my lid. You want to go slightly past the crease and stop. Then, you want to take any crease brush and apply Diamond Dove right into the crease area, blending towards the outer corner of your eye. Apply more Gorgeous Gold, but do not blend just yet. Now, take a blending brush and blend Diamond Dove into Gorgeous Gold. Apply Mac’s Nylon near the brow bone to complete the eyeshadow portion of this tutorial.

I like to apply my eyeliner after my eyeshadow simply because it stands out more and lasts longer when I do. For this wedding inspired makeup look, I decided to go with Clinique’s Brush-On Cream Liner in True Black. You want to line your eye using the cat eye approach and then finish off by lining both the bottom waterline and upper waterline (tight line).

Lash primer is a must, especially before applying your mascara. It prevents flaking and creasing and allows your mascara to last longer. For this tutorial, I am going to use Estee Lauder’s Lash Primer Plus. The mascara I am going to be using is Maybelline’s Great Lash Big in Blackest Black.

LIPS

For the lips, I wanted something natural looking. Because I made my eyes a little dramatic, I didn’t want to draw attention elsewhere. I decided to go with Mac’s lipstick in Honeylove and to complete the lips; I decided to finish it off with Sephora’s Cream Lip Stain in 02 Classic Beige.

Congratulations! You have just created my Bronze Goddess Wedding Inspired Makeup Look.
