MAC Cosmetics Select SPF 15 Liquid Foundation NW25

Liquid Foundation, Mac Cosmetics, Pressed Powder

I love MAC. My budget though tells me to avoid MAC at all costs. However whenever I run out, I am drawn to my nearest mall…the MAC representatives call to me, they know… I need a new MAC product. They sniff me out, find me a product that would look good on me, a product that would match my skin tone to a tee, and a product that I can’t go home without.

They got me on Saturday afternoon. I was ‘trying’ to avoid the MAC counters and sales associates, but this one hot broad called me over. I noticed how nice her makeup looked, so I of course had to ask. She told me about their newest colors in eye shadows, and went on about lipstick.

I’m not much of a lipstick person, but I knew I needed new foundation. My MAC Pressed Powder was currently near it’s end, and I wanted to restock. Just as I was about to buy my norm, she told me that I could buy the same color NW25 in a liquid foundation.

‘Why darlin’ you read my mind!’

I had never tried their liquid foundations. I always have gotten the pressed powder or cream concealer. Seeing how they had my color in the foundation, I ended up walking away $27.49 poorer.

The Color:

I have a medium light complexion, it seems my skin tone is difficult to find an appropriate color for. Other concealers and foundations are either too light or too dark on my skin. I cannot even count how much money I have wasted on purchasing foundation, only to come home and realize that it was wrong for my skin tone.

MAC NW25 though is designed to blend well, even if by chance I was to buy something too dark or too light. NW25 seems to match me perfectly, while adding a very small tint of bronze that blends naturally.

At home I first cleaned my face, and applied to foundation with my finger. They recommend using a brush, but I find this to be messy and nearly impossible seeing how the bottle is glass, and the top opening is too damn small to fit any brush into.

The foundation applies quickly and blends evenly while hiding my flaws and imperfections.

Last:

So yeah, I get wonderful flawless looking skin, but most of you are probably wondering how long the foundation stays put.

I myself have combination oily skin. One major problem I have with my skin type is shine seeping through on my forehead just a few hours after applying makeup.

This particular foundation though keeps me relatively shine free for the majority of the day. I apply at 7am, and my face looks fresh till about 3pm. After that I simply blot my face with tissue paper or pressed powder.

Issue:

One minor issue I have with the foundation is the fact that it dries relatively fast. Blending; although easy, is annoying at times because the foundation will dry as I’m applying. Luckily though it does not clump in spots or cause streaks on my face.

Overall:

Although MAC Cosmetics are a bit pricey, they seem to work better then any liquid foundation I have ever used. On top of complete flawless coverage my skin is also protected with the SPF 15 that is in the foundation.

Recommendation:

I find I get the best most natural coverage when I apply this foundation first, and follow up with a few light swipes of MAC’S NW25 Pressed Powder.

Where To Find:

I always get mine at my local Smithaven Mall. If you don’t have a MAC store nearby, you can also purchase MAC Cosmetics online by clicking here.
