There are a lot of different teas around, but what I want to do is give you a list where you can make tea from plants you have forgotten about. These plants are very common, but many of us are either not aware they could used, or they have been over-shadowed by the more popular green tea and herbal teas.

When you make tea, it is best if you either dry the leaves or use them fresh, then pour your hot water over them and let them steep from 5 to 15 minutes. If you’re really into tea, then go ahead and purchase a teapot with a strainer.

Tea is a very lovely drink, and a lot of them offer health benefits we’re not even aware of, so let me go ahead and give you the list of 10 tea plants that you can make tea from, and the health benefits they provide.

Blueberry Tea
Let the dried leaves steep then cool. You can drink 1 or 2 cups of this tea per day. The taste is a little bitter, but you can drink it all year. This tea is good for inflamed kidneys and as a blood purifier. It will increase your urine output.

Persimmon Tea
Dry and crush the leaves before adding hot water and steeping. Drink the tea while it is still warm. The tea is going to be very strong, but it is a good source for vitamin C, and you can drink it all year.

Blackberry And Raspberry Tea
The leaves from these two make an excellent, and should be drunk while still warm. This tea is used to purify the blood and to control your diarrhea.

Wild Strawberry Tea

In the morning you can reheat then drink. This tea has lots of vitamin C and is used for colds, flu and sore throats.

Soldier’s Herb Tea
This tea is made from a weed that grows in your yard. Mix 1 teaspoon of seeds for every cup of boiling water you use. Let this steep for 30 minutes before drinking. Drinking this tea hot was used for jaundice.

When you use the leaves, chopped them up really fine, then mix 1 teaspoon full for every cup of boiling water you use. Let it steep for 30 minutes before drinking. You can also use the leaves dried and powdered. Just follow the directions for the fresh leaves, but let it steep for 15 minutes instead of 30 minutes. You can drink this tea at least 4 or 5 times a day. It is also used for gout, slow menstruation, worms, and to clean out your nasal passage.

Birch Tea
You can use the dried leaves of the white, black and yellow birch. Just mix some in hot water and let it steep. If you drink this tea hot, it can be used for rheumatism, headaches, as a fever reducer, and to help with passing kidney stones. When it cools, you can use it as a mouth wash.

Sweet Goldenrod Tea
This tea doesn’t have any particular benefits, but you can drink it made from either dried leaves, fresh leaves or flowers. It’s very good and flavorful and you can drink it all year.
