Make Straight Hair Look Naturally Curly

Pink Hair

This method is perfect if you’re trying to grow your hair out or stop breakage and split ends. There are a number of products you can use for this method depending on your personal preference. Here’s the list of items you’ll need:

For shine you’ll want to use one of the following:

Pink hair lotion

Oil sheen

Hair grease (I personally recommend Indian Hemp because it’s a conditioner that controls new growth while promoting new growth at the same time).

Part your hair in separate sections and apply any of the products listed above to your scalp. Once your entire scalp has been oiled, comb the hair straight back. Divide your hair in two sections (top and bottom). If you have long hair or wish to make your hair look extremely full, divide your hair into three or more parts. You’ll have to experiment until you find what works for you.

Here’s what you’ll need to make the actual curls. Choose one of the following:

Pink hair lotion- If you use hair lotion, only apply about a quarter-size amount to your hand. Hair lotion can weigh the hair down and make the curls appear flat and lifeless if you use too much. Only apply the hair lotion to your hair one time until the next washing of your hair.

Hair Mouse- This is a great product to use on the hair. Most hair mouse products contain vitamin E and can be used daily.

Hair Mayonnaise- If you use hair mayonnaise, only use this product once until the next washing of your hair. Depending on how thick your hair is, use about a quarter-size amount to apply to your hair.

Water-This is a good alternative if you don’t have any of the hair products listed above and if you use grease. Simply apply the water your hair in small amounts. The purpose is to make your hair a little wetter than damp but not to the point to where it’s soaking wet.

Take each section of the hair and apply any of the products listed above to the hair. After you’ve done this, take each section of your hair and secure it with a rubber band or hair scrungy. Pull each section of hair and form a bun. In other words, if your hair is parted into two sections, you should have two buns.

If you’re going to bed, simply tie your hair up with a scarf or hairnet to contain the oils in your hair. If you’re going out, you’ll want to do this at least five hours before you leave to give your curls a chance to form.

For styling purposes:

After removing the rubber bands or hair scrungies, start at the middle of your eyebrow, and then drag the comb up to your hairline. Part your hair from there using a comb with small teeth. After you part your hair, take a comb with big teeth and comb the front of your hair to the side.

Next, comb the rest of your hair out. Tease your hair just a little as you do this. You can either tuck your hair behind your ears or tuck one side behind your ears. No need to use hair spray, your curls will hold. If you don’t want your curls blowing in the wind and you used hair mouse, apply small droplets of water to your hair. This will harden your curls and make them stiff.
