Magic Drawers for Major Organization!

Orgainzation is important to me! I hate clutter, and so did my daughter. She purchased this set of Magic Drawers several years ago, and when she moved out of state, I inherited them. Not many sold at her garage sale, and so I ended up being the lucky recipient.

At first, I had the same impression of the Magic Drawers as everyone else who bypassed them, however, after using them for the past two years, I am sold on these wonderful organizers!

Product Description

Magic Drawers come in a variety of sizes, and except for size, they all look and work the same. They consist of a clear, heavy duty plastic box, which has a looped handle at the end, and a hinge at the other end. These storage boxes open up completely, so that the lid can lay flat on the surface that the bottom rests upon.

There are two deep grooves slots) on the tops, and two raised panels (rails) on the bottoms, and this allows the Magic Drawers to be stacked securely on on the other. But that’s not all! There are also grooves along the outside edges that allow you to remove one of the drawers and keep the others in tact!

Magic Drawers have a patented “Sky-Rail” system and can be customized to fit almost any space.

Sizes

I have three sizes of the Magic Drawers. The largest looks square, and measures 14″ wide, 14 1/2″ deep, and 4 3/4″ high. The next size I own is 8″ wide, 14 1/2″ deep and 4 3/4″ high. The last and smallest size I have measures 6 1/4″ wide, 14 1/2″ deep and 4 3/4″ high.

How I Use Magic Drawers

My husband and I share a walk in closet in our bedroom, and above our clothes racks are two long, large shelves. We used to have a variety of items stacked on these shelves, but things didn’t always get put back in the same place, and over time the shelves became quite unsightly.

To use the drawers as intented, you need a minimum of 15 Magic Drawers, and stack them in five vertical rows. All Magic Drawer sizes do fit each other, but you must stack the same size drawers on top of one another. I have three of the largest square Magic Drawers in the center of my shelf, with two rows of three medium size to the left, and two rows of the smallest size to the right.

To arrange them, I put a medium drawer down, leave a space, put the large drawer down, leave a space, and last put the small drawer down. Then the second row consists of a medium and small drawer stacked upon this base, fit into the grooves. The next row is three drawers again, also placed in the empty spaces. You continue in this fashion, layering two drawers, then three drawers, until you get your desired height. The rails on the bottoms of the drawers must interlock with the slots on the tops of each drawer.

When these are stacked correctly, I can easily see the contents of each drawer, and I can remove just one of them and the rest will remain in place! How cool is that? Now our ball caps, extra purses, Christmas cards, pictures, belts, sewing supplies, books, tapes, shoes, CD’s, (you name it!) are all stored away beautifully, and it’s simple to find and remove exactly what I am looking for! The Magic Drawers are a wonderful invention. I just have to be careful not to fill the drawers with more than 3-4 pounds each.

Usage Ideas

Magic Drawers would be great to organize a craft room, children’s toys, a garage, or to simply turn any closet space into a well organized display.

Magic Drawers come with an illustrated assembly guide, and they list a few precautions at the bottom. You are not to use in a microwave, and you can’t clean them in the dishwasher. To clean, simply hand wash with luke warm water and soap.

Magic Drawers are 100% made in the USA, and won the 2008 NAPO Organizers Choice Award. They come with a 30 day money back guarantee. The 30 piece kit runs from $74.99-$78.99.
To prevent the plastic from yellowing or discoloring, it helps to keep the Magic Drawers out of direct sunlight.

To conclude, I highly recommend Magic Drawers if you can find them. I believe my daughter ordered them from a television commercial, but I’m not positive about that. You can find them on the internet.
