Lost Season 6 Episode 7 “Dr Linus” Preview

Linus, Lost Season 6

Lost Season 6 Episode 7 may be the most anticipated in a while. This is because Lost Season 6 Episode 7 “Dr Linus” is finally bringing Ben Linus back. Once upon a time, Ben was the most important character on the show and the most mysterious. But now that the war between Jacob and the Man In Black/smoke monster/fake Locke overshadows all else, Ben’s importance has been drastically cut. Yet Lost Season 6 Episode 7 promises to fix that – although it might be too little, too late for the former leader.

Warning: Spoilers ahead

According to ABC’s promo for “Dr. Linus,” Ben will face his demise tonight. Now that he is no longer the head villain, and has become a broken down shell of his former self, he might not be important enough anymore. Lost has put him on the sidelines so far – but would they bring him back just to kill him as they did with Daniel Faraday?

The only hints in the Lost Season 6 Episode 7 press release is that “Ben deals with the consequences of an uncovered lie.” He has so many lies to be uncovered, but in all likelihood, this lie is the one he told Ilana about the monster killing Jacob – not him. Since Ben’s murders of the real Locke and Jacob set the current war in motion, Ilana and company may make him pay for it.

But the major action in Lost Season 6 Episode 7 won’t just be on the island. The ‘flash-sideways’ technique is still controversial, yet Ben’s alternate self may put a new spin on that universe. In the sideways glimpses so far, the characters are still dealing with old demons and are basically still their old selves. But sideways-Ben doesn’t seem to be evil at all, but a fussy history teacher who gets a new friend in substitute teacher John Locke.

The sideways world has brought back many returns for old friends, and in “Dr. Linus” Alex and Roger Linus, as well as Dr. Artz, will be back. But the big return may be that of Charles Widmore – depending on which universe he shows up in.

Lost Season 6 Episode 7 may come just in time after two straight divisive weeks. Ben episodes have been the most revealing, popular installments in Lost history – but they didn’t star the weakened Ben we’ve seen in Season 6.

Yet if it is his final show, fans would throw a fit – although Michael Emerson’s wife, Carrie Preston, posted on her Twitter account that he was back filming the three part finale this week. ABC promos have been incredibly misleading, so maybe island Ben will be fine. Could sideways Ben – the supposedly nicer Ben- be a different story?

“Dr. Linus” will give his all important lecture at 9 p.m. EST tonight on ABC.
