List of Music and Songs from Prison Break

Prison Break

“Prison Break Theme” by Ramin Djawadi: The theme song for Prison Break. It has been modified slightly for each season but follows the same general feel and tone of the show. The theme is very mysterious and upbeat at the same time. For some it could also be considered very motivating and give the viewer a sense of what the characters are going through.

“In the tunnels” by Ramin Djawadi: Scene in the tunnels during season 1. This is another upbeat composition that keeps the viewer on the edge of their seat cheering on the characters during their escape.

“Veronica Is Murdered” by Ramin Djawadi: First episode of season 2 when Veronica is shot and killed. This music conveys the seriousness of this event and how it will affect Lincoln Burrows for a long time to come.

“Sona” by Ramin Djawadi: The song accompanying Michael Scoffield’s first visit to the creepy prison known as Sona. Very well composed and sets up the viewer in suspense for the beginning of season 3 when Michael enters the depths of a new prison.

“Teardrop” by Massive Attack: (Episode “Tonight” of Season 1) this was the song played as each of the prisoners were preparing for the escape at the end of season 1. This song is very popular and also the theme song for the show House.

“Home” by Alexi Murdoch [Time Without a Consequence]: (Episode “Chicago” of Season 2) this song was played during the scene where Haywire leaps off the top of a tower killing himself. Not a very major character in the series, but his death as well as the struggle of his character strike a deep chord in a lot of viewers.

“Orange sky” by Alexi Murdoch: (Episode “English, Fitz or Percy” of Season 1) when Michael is being transferred to a different prison. This occurs during one of the very many instances where Michael is on the brink of absolute failure. This song does a great job of pulling the viewer into Michael’s struggle to escape and how much of an impact this is for him.

Styles Of the Beyond” by Nine Thou: (Episode “Riots, Drills and the Devil, Part 1” of Season 1) where Lincoln Burrows attacks Tea Bag during a prison riot. During a very crazy situation where a lot of things are going wrong and chaos has broken out, the audience witnesses the moment where a favored character is able to fight his way out of a tough position and gain the upper hand. What better way to accompany this than with some intense rock music?

This is War” by Black Toast Music: (Episode “Allen” of Season 1) where the inmates of Fox River are passing around knives after cell shakedown and preparing for a race war. The title speaks for itself and illustrates the current state of Fox River and the environment of these prisons. The show does not hesitate to immerse the viewer into the battles that rage on daily in such a chaotic and threatening world.

“The Outsider” by A Perfect Circle [Thirteenth Step]: (Episode “End of the Tunnel” of Season 1) where the team of prisoners gets ready for the escape. This is another kind of a random instance where music is played in order to keep the audience in tune with the seriousness of the situation.
