Knudsen Hampshire Sour Cream is the Richest Sour Cream

Kraft Foods, Mexican Food Recipes, Onion Dip, Sour Cream

One of my food weaknesses is sour cream. While there are many varieties of name brand sour cream available and any number of individual store brands of sour cream, I have found that Knudsen brand Hampshire Sour Cream by Kraft Foods is the richest and creamiest sour cream generally available. For those who are unfamiliar with sour cream, sour cream is a dairy product that is formed by fermenting dairy cream with lactic acid bacteria. The result is a thick and creamy dairy product whose consistency is similar to that of yogurt and which is slightly bitter and sour. Sour cream is almost never consumed alone but is rather a condiment that is used to accentuate several types of food calling for a bitter accent.

One of the most popular uses for sour cream is in Mexican food. I have found that the Knudsen brand of sour cream retains its texture even inside of hot Mexican food like burritos and enchiladas. The sourness of the sour cream is the perfect compliment to the beans, rice, cheese, and spiciness of most Mexican dishes, and I must admit that I am more than a little bit gluttonous when it comes to using sour cream on my Mexican food, whether at home or at a restaurant.

Another popular use for Knudsen Hampshire Sour Cream by Kraft Foods is as a topping for a baked potato. I myself like to use Knudsen Hampshire Cream on a piping hot baked potato along with butter, chives, onions, and some shredded cheese. The sourness of the cream is a compliment to the saltiness of the butter and the peppery flavor of fresh chopped onions. The sour cream does little to make a baked potato any more healthy (in fact quite the opposite), but despite its simplicity I find that a baked potato is actually quite decadent when properly prepared and topped with Knudsen Hampshire Sour Cream.

In addition to Mexican food and baked potatoes, any number of dips and spreads can be made by using sour cream as a base. I myself enjoy an onion dip for use with potato chips, and I also enjoy making a light guacamole dip by combining Knudsen Hampshire Sour Cream with mashed avocados for a guacamole that is more like a creamy spread than a chunky dip. You can also throw some hot salsa into the mix to give the dip a little bit of spiciness of you are looking for a dip for tortilla chips to compliment a Mexican dish or as a party snack for the big game.

In conclusion, Knudsen Hampshire Sour Cream by Kraft Foods is the smoothest and richest sour cream that is generally available in the supermarket. It is the perfect compliment to many types of foods including Mexican food and baked potatoes, and it can be used as a base for many types of dips and spreads. The Knudsen Hampshire Sour Cream is rather high in fat content, but a light variety is also available with the same taste but which is lacking in some of the creamy smoothness that gives sour cream its unique texture. So next time you need sour cream in your recipes, give Knudsen Hampshire Sour Cream a try. It simply outdoes all the competition in the sour cream world.
