Kleenex Hand Towels – Product Review

Kleenex

If you’re like me, you probably came across Kleenex hand towels and thought, what a scam! What a waste! Someone decided to reshape and rename an already existing product in an attempt to make more money, and unfortunately increase a carbon footprint for our planet, probably at a higher cost to the consumer!

Then, one day I was getting frustrated with the amount of towels needing washing on a weekly basis! I was also got frustrated that other people were using my personal towel to dry their hands on after washing them in the bathroom! So, the next time I went shopping, remembering the commercial, I gave Kleenex Hand Towels a second look.

A Box of Kleenex Hand Towels

A box of Kleenex Hand Towels contains 60 1-ply white hand towels. At the local Giant, the price was just under $3.00 for a box. I was a little nervous about the quality of the ‘hand towels’ but I thought I’d give it a shot since the price wasn’t as bad as I’d expected.

When I got home, I found that the somewhat narrow rectangular-shaped box fit perfectly on the corner sink against the wall in my tiny bathroom! Because my bathroom is so small, there would also be times when I’d find it practical to hang the Kleenex hand towel box upside down over an empty towel rack for quick and easy dispensing as well. Usually, laundry time is when this comes in handy because there are no cloth towels in easy reach at that time.

Kleenex hand towels are available in several neutral colors including, gold, silver, and a metallic blue/green. The boxes had a raised circular pattern on it which also added to its elegance and provided a sophisticated look that would work well in a home, office, or even public restaurant restroom. The box of Kleenex hand towels can be opened just like a Kleenex tissue box by punching out the perforated slot to allow for dispensing one towel at a time.
The single dispense towels is a very important factor because unlike a roll of paper towels you don’t have to fool with tearing of a single towel from a roll while trying not to wet the rest of the roll with your wet or dirty hands. Also, for cleanup, a single towel can be snatched up swiftly without unraveling the rest of the roll!

I was also very please with the size of Kleenex Hand Towels, which were not too big as to make you feel you weren’t taken advantage of the entire towel, nor were they too small like those ‘pick your own size’ towels that are too short if you take just one or two panels and still a little too much if you choose to take 3 panels. Also, those towels tend to be a little on the shabby side, which still make you end up using more than you’d like to.

The quality of Kleenex hand towels is outstanding! Soft and stretchy, yet flexible and very sturdy, making them practical for a variety of uses! Blow your nose, remove makeup, clean baby’s bottom when you need a soft tissue. Dry your hands, clean up spills, or wipe down your sink and counter when you need something a little more sturdy and absorbent! You can even use them to wash or dry dishes!

Since what I use them for mostly is drying my hands after washing them I am prone to reuse the same towel all day. Unlike kids, adults tend to wash most of the waste from their hands when washing so that they are actually clean and just need to be dried, whereas a lot of times kids do some of their ‘hand-cleaning’ during their drying after washing them! Since my Kleenex hand towels are primarily wet after use, i hang it over my towel rack to dry and have ready to use for next time. I encourage family to do the same so we can get the best use and value from them.
Then, once I know i won’t be using them for hygiene purposes again, i save the used towels in a basket to have handy for spills and cleanups. I find them fit for wiping down the sink and mirror for quick cleanups!

I continually find more and more uses for Kleenex hand towels every day, from wiping down the dog when bringing him in from the rain, to wiping the oil from the dip stick when checking the oil in my car! With so many uses I find that Kleenex hand towels are more practical and economical than paper towels and in some cases sponges! Plus, they save on energy and water by cutting back on the amount of laundry from cloth towels. Also, they may need time for breaking down in landfills, but they are not adding detergents and chemicals to the water that washing laundry can do!

So, with all of this in mind, I recant my first impression of Kleenex hand towels. They are ‘green’, economical, practical, and just plain wonderful!

(i)Kleenex has not paid me to say this, i just love their hand towels! (/i)
