Kingwood Farmer’s Markets

farmer's markets, Locally Grown Produce, Sugar Free Desserts

There are now at least two local farmer’s markets in the Kingwood area. The markets have a wide variety of items and you might be surprised at the unusual items you can find there.

The Lake Houston Area Chamber of Commerce puts on the Farmers Market in Kingwood Town Center Park every Thursday from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm. This market was started at the request of many Kingwood residents and was finally opened in May of 2010 after the City of Houston gave their approval. There are vendors there that have locally grown fruits and vegetables. You can also find such things as jellies and jams, breads, olive oil, goat cheese, jerky, sweet and spicy pickles, sugar-free desserts, orchids and more.

There is also another Farmer’s Market in the front of Kingwood at 22310 Loop 494
Kingwood , TX 77339 . This is located under a covered, but open air pavilion and features locally grown produce from some local area growers, and from time to time has some other produce that is grown in Texas but not around this area. Depending on the time of year and what is in season they will have such things as peaches, squash, ripe and green tomatoes, peas, beans, okra, corn, zucchini, potatoes, curly lettuce, avocados, and more. They take cash and checks and for the best selection it is best to get there in the morning. The prices are reasonable and the people are knowledgeable about the produce and willing to answer any questions you have.
