Killer Bees in Michigan!

Dog Bark, Killer Bees

Once upon a time only nights were scary here in Michigan, but now it’s not just the nights you should be afraid of. Daytimes come with their own monsters now, and these aren’t just fairytales made up to keep us all in our rooms. Killer bees have been making their way up from the southern states and have finally found their way to the northeast and they are now wreaking havoc here in the mitten. Here’s a story of how those hateful killer bees brought pain, horror and then death to one small town in our now plagued state.

One day a family in Newaygo was having a garage sale. Garage sales are a big thing in Michigan and this family set theirs up like it was a fiesta or something. There were streamers, balloons, all the tables had fancy colored table clothes on them and not one item was missing a price tag. People were coming in droves. There was homemade lemonade, bottled water and even baked goods. There wasn’t more than a two to five minute lapse between cars filling up the driveway. It was a nice sunny day and mom and daughter were greatly enjoying the extreme success of their little junk sale.

At one point when the driveway was especially blocked and a family friend was there helping out they suddenly heard a strange noise. Now, there were no less than ten people total in and outside of the garage at this time. This eerie noise sounded almost like someone had turned on a huge fan around the back of the garage. It even made the dog bark, who had been snoring peacefully under a chair at the entrance of the garage. Almost from out of nowhere came a huge black cloud, or so it looked at first, heading towards the now gasping garage salers, dog, family and friend.

At this very moment the daughter was sitting in the closed up car trying to find a CD to put in the stereo in the garage. She watched in horror as a whole swarm of bees attacked the people at the garage sale. Everyone was running and screaming, trying to get to their vehicles, to some sort of safety. All the vehicles were blocked in though, by a vehicle whose owner had made it back into the minivan only to end up slumped over the steering wheel dead. The family friend lay dead in the drive, right outside the garage; she was severely allergic to bees and didn’t stand a chance.

The daughter sat in her car crying as she watched her mom, also mildly allergic to bees, running to the house. The poor dog tried to follow behind her, but was already smothered in bees and dropped dead half way there. The daughter screamed but stayed shut in the safety of the car, trying not to hyperventilate. She saw her mom make it into the house and shut the door. She prayed and sighed in relief hoping she was safe.

After about 20 minutes all of the bees seemed to just disappear and the few people who made it into their cars started to slowly get out. Numerous people were holding cell phones to their ears crying hysterically, to family members or 9.1.1. The daughter got out of her vehicle and ran to the house, trying not to look at her poor dead dog on the way. She heard the shower running when she got in the house.

Her mom was floating in the bath tub, dead, with the shower pouring over her. Whether dead from the killer bees or drowning there was nothing the girl could do now but cry. She assumed her mom had thought it would be safe in there under the water, that it would keep the bees away. But there were bees drowned in there with her too.
