The Ultra Facial Moisturizer SPF 15 from the Kiehl’s facial product line has the lightweight and creamy consistency of sunscreen rather than the typical feeling of a moisturizer. It’s fairly runny and a little bit goes a long way with this product. Though, it smells and feels like a sunscreen, it isn’t oily like many facial moisturizers can be that have SPF protection.
How Much Does Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer SPF 15 Cost?
I had been perusing the makeup section at Nordstrom’s when I came across the Ultra Facial Moisturizer. It is definitely not the cheapest option for moisturizers. The 2.5oz bottle is $18.50, 4.2oz bottle was $29.50, and the 8.4oz bottle was $49.50. That’s a tad bit steep in my opinion when it comes to this particular product.
Pros of Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer SPF 15
This product does really well at doing its job while not being overly greasy like many moisturizers with SPF protection. The fact that the Ultra Facial Moisturizer is lightweight helps it to be able to absorb quickly. It’s also nice that you don’t have to use as much product in order to fully moisturize your face. That way, your bottle will last you longer, inevitably saving you money and making the price point a little less costly in the long run.
Cons of Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer SPF 15
The Ultra Facial Moisturizer is convenient for being a moisturizer with SPF protection. However, it’s just not as hydrating as I would prefer. It smells like a sunscreen instead of a moisturizer which can be somewhat off putting to some. Then, of course, the price is not the most affordable at all, especially when there is nothing about the product that seems particularly exceptional.
Overall Impression of Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer SPF 15
Overall, Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer SPF is an adequate moisturizer for someone who prefers a lightweight moisturizer with the added benefits of SPF protection. It would specifically work best for someone whose skin type is oily and as such typically has trouble finding a sufficient moisturizer with SPF that isn’t overly heavy or oily. For the cost however, I can’t say that I would actually purchase this product. The sample was enough for me to discover that for my combination skin, it was merely satisfactory. The Olay Regenerist facial moisturizer that contains SPF is a comparable product as far as price but is exemplary as far as results. It also has the added convenience of being available in your local drugstore where the Kiehl’s Moisturizer is not. In the end, I’d give the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer SPF 15 a rating of 3 out of 5.
