Kids Party Favor Ideas

Kids Party, Party Favor Ideas, Pirate Party

Party favors do not need to be an super expensive part of a child’s birthday party. There are cute and creative ways to fill a goodie bag on any size budget. There are several items at cheap prices that will fill the kids loot bags with fun. It is also a good idea to try and give the kids items that they will use or consume.

Parents will always be happy when their children are given items that the approve of. Try and get items that you know your circle of parents are in line with. For example if you know several parents in your group do not allow their children to eat chocolate it might be a good idea to steer clear of goodie bags filled with chocolate. You also want to consider the age of the children. If there are several young children and several older children you might want to make two different types of bags, one type of each age group. You can include age appropriate items for older kids in one bag and toys and treats that are safer for little kids in the other bag.

Here are some of my favorite ideas:

-Decorated pencils and erasers that match the theme of the party. These are usually available and fairly inexpensive at the dollar store, Target, Walmart, or K-mart.

-Pretend toys that are in keeping with the theme, like necklaces for a princess party or pirate eye patches for a pirate party.

-Fruit snacks.

-Bouncy balls.

-Band-aids with the theme of the party on them. This is good if it is a popular theme at the time like Spiderman or Dora.

-There are always cute items in the dollar bins at Target, Walmart, and K-mart. They change these items out quickly, so if you start looking a few weeks before the party then you will be sure to find some appropriate items.

-Photos. Buy small photo frames at the dollar store. Take a picture of each child with the birthday boy or girl. Print them up quickly during the party, put them in the frames as a fun gift for each child to take home.

-Books. Age appropriate books are a great choice that parents will love.

-Cars and trucks are great for boys parties. You can often get a large set for a fair price and then just open the set and give each child a few in their loot bag.

-Art Supplies are fun for boys and girls.

-Party-made snacks. Get the kids in n the fun! You can bake cookies ahead of time and have the kids decorate their own cookies to take home! Wrap them up in plastic wrap and add a bow for a cute and tasty treat.

-If your little one’s birthday lands after a candy type of holiday (Easter, Halloween or Christmas) you are in luck because store mark down all of their candy right after the holiday. This can be a great way to get a deal on candy for the favor bags.

There are tons of ways to make the kids happy on a budget. Have fun and be creative with your goodie bag ideas and the kids will surely enjoy themselves.
