If you have ever been in one of the Juicy Couture Boutiques, there is a story printed on the wall (at least in the one I went in at Carlsbad) that tells about the two girls from Pocoima California that had an idea that grew into the now famous, fashionable, and incredibly succesful fashion line of Juicy Couture.

Can a bag if t-shirts, a pair of scissors, $200, and two determined women equal a multi-million dollar empire? Enter the fashion designers and founders of Juicy Couture. When two smart women with a plan for success put their heads together there is no stopping them. Hence the launching of the popular and trendy casual clothes line Juicy Couture. Pamela Skaist-Levy and Gela Nash-Taylor not only took the fashion world by storm, but also consumers as everyone fell in love with their form fitting t-shirts, fruity colored velour and terry cloth track suits – one of the first most popular products. The two girls from Pacoima now have an entire fashion line under the name Juicy Couture, and it is more in demand than ever.

What started out in Southern California as a business idea among the two co-founders Pamela Skaist-Levy and Gela Nash-Taylor has propelled what was a California casual lifestyle wardrobe into a world wide business and multiple stores around the globe ranging from Los Angeles to New York as well as Tokyo, Rome, Paris and other locations.

When Juicy Couture was originally founded by the two fashion designers Pamela Skaist-Levy and Gela Nash-Taylor, the two women were looking for an ideal wardrobe item in terms of looks` fit, comfort and appeal for their personal lifestyle. Together they created a line that would change the flavor of casual dress and style. The line Juicy Couture began with the cute form fitting t-shirts originally created, and later progressed into a broader line of clothing items encompassing the popular pastel colored track suits, t-shirts, and unique handbags.

The line has now grown to shoes, jewelry, sun glasses, pet apparel, pet supplies, men’s wear and more. The most popular piece of jewelry to date is the Juicy Couture charm bracelet. Another cute and easily recognizable trademark is the cute little Scottie dog in the ads for the perfume and is used on adornment on some of the other products.

The growth of the Juicy Couture line has grown well beyond what many fashion experts in the industry could have ever expected. Whatever consumers first reaction was to the product, they have proved to be loyal followers, and most likely will continue to be so based on sales and the upcoming release of future products. Having been acquired by the Liz Claiborne Group in 2003 which now serves as the parent company, Juicy Couture has now become not only a unique and popular single phenomenon. The two co-founders Pamela Skaist-Levy and Gela Nash-Taylor remain co-presidents. Though Liz Claiborne Company owns 100% stock the two co-founders still have creative control as well as financial security.
