Johnsonville Breakfast Sausage Products Are Delicious

Breakfast Sausage, Frozen Waffles, Maple Syrup, Sausage

One of my favorite breakfast foods has always been breakfast sausage. Whether it be in link, bulk or pattie form, breakfast sausage is a wonderful accompaniment for any type of breakfast. I enjoy eating breakfast sausage so much, that I sometimes eat it for dinner, topped with catsup, between two slices of bread. Recently, after hearing numerous local radio commercials for Johnsonville(R) sausage products, I decided to purchase some of their breakfast sausage. When I looked for the Johnsonville(R) breakfast sausage products at Waldbaum’s(R) Supermarket, I was pleasantly surprised by the large variety of Johnsonville(R) Breakfast Sausage products that were available.

Positioned alongside several other well- known brands of breakfast sauage, were many attractively- packaged varieties of Johnsonville(R) Breakfast Sausage. The Johnsonville(R) sausage products included several types of link, pattie and bulk meat. Among the types of link breakfast sausage offered by Johnsonville(R) are; Original Breakfast Links, Vermont Maple Syrup Links and Brown Sugar & Honey Links. Breakfast sausage patties are available in Home- Style, Original and Vermont Maple Syrup varieties. The Original and Vermont Maple Syrup style patties are sold in both 9-oz and 12- oz trays, while the Home- Style Breakfast Patties are available only in 12- oz trays.

It was not an easy decision for me to choose which variety of Johnsonville(R) Breakfast Sausage to purchase. Each variety looked so fresh and tempting, that I wanted to try all of them. Finally, I chose one 9- oz package of the Original Breakfast Links and one 9- oz package of Vermont Maple Syrup Patties. Because I was so eager to try the Johnsonville(R) sausage products, I decided to cook a small amount of each purchased product, to enjoy with some frozen waffles. According to package instructions, I pan- fried the Vermont Maple Syrup Patties over medium- low heat, for approximately 8- 10 minutes. Because I prefer breakfast sausage to be cooked medium- well, I let the patties cook for a total of approximately 12- 15 minutes, until they acquired a rich, golden- brown hue. The Original Breakfast Links were heated in the conventional oven, per recommended heating instructions, for 18- 20 minutes, turning sausages halfway through. As with the Vermont Maple Syrup Patties, I decided to cook the links a bit longer than the recommended time. While microwave cooking of these delicious breakfast sausage products is not recommended, microwave re- heating is recommended. It should be noted that the lovely aromas wafting from the Johnsonville(R) Sausage products as they cook, are highly appetite- stimulating.

When I sat down to eat the golden- brown varieties of breakfast sausage, with the waffles, I couldn’t help but notice how appealing the Johnsonville(R) sausage appeared, as it sat on the plate. Upon first bite of each variety of breakfast sausage, I became a new convert to the Johnsonville(R) world of sausage. Through the years, I have consumed many major brands of breakfast sausage. None, however, possessed the wonderful flavor, texture and overall goodness of the Johnsonville(R) varieties. The Vermont Maple Syrup Patties actually tasted like real maple syrup was present, without being over- poweringly sweet. The meat itself was nicely seasoned and had no greasy or un- pleasant aftertaste. The Original Breakfast Links were delicately- seasoned, with a very pleasing flavor throughout and maintained a nice texture. Having cooked more sausage than I could consume in one sitting, I wrapped and refrigerated the remainder, to enjoy the following day. The next day, I reheated both the leftover Original Breakfast Links and the Vermont Maple Syrup Patties for approximately one minute in the microwave oven and they tasted just as good as when they had been freshly- cooked. I ate both varieties of the leftover Johnsonville(R) Breakfast Sausage in sandwiches topped with catsup. Never before, had I eaten such delicious breakfast sausage sandwiches. Since then, I have also eaten the Original Breakfast Links with scrambled eggs and English muffins and thoroughly enjoyed every bite.

Nutritionally, the Johnsonville(R) Original Breakfast Links contain 180 calories, with 130 calories from fat, per 3- link serving. The Vermont Maple Syrup Patties contain 210 calories, with 150 calories from fat, per 2- pattie serving. The retail price of Johnsonville(R) Breakfast Sausage products is comparable to that of other leading brands of breakfast sausage, sometimes even less expensive. All things considered, the many types of Johnsonville(R) Breakfast Sausage are highly recommended products.
