Joe Lando – Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman

Joe Lando is one of my favorite television characters. He is an actor and he became famous with his role as Byron Sully on Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman. This show aired on CBS from 1993 – 1998. Joe played Jane Seymour’s husband and was known as a mountain man. His first wife, Abigail, and his daughter passed away during childbirth. Years later he married Dr. Michaela Quinn who was a well known woman doctor in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Joe was born in 1961 in Illinois. He is Italian, Polish and Russian. He got married to Kirsten Barlow on May 24, 1997 and they have four children. Before he went into acting, he was a cook in a Hollywood restaurant. He also starred in the soap opera, One Life to Live and made an appearance on The Guiding Light. He also had a role in Higher Ground and Bloodsuckers. Joe is not currently acting, but is spending quality time with the family.

In 1993, Joe was named as one of the 50 most beautiful people in “People’s Magazine. He has won a number of awards throughout his career. In 1993-1995, he got the most popular male actor award. In 1996 he won The Family Film Award for Outstanding Actor in a Television Series.
