There are other schools, but here is a list of 9 Universities and Colleges that I have reviewed for you.

All of these schools are near many entertaining businesses for you to have fun in. Wether it be day or night, you can always find something to do when you are not in class or studying.

University of North Florida – UNF

This College opened in 1972, and is the home of Botball Tourney. This University has a nature and wildlife area along with a nature trail. A portion of this school is set aside for research and local area kids coming for environmental lessons. You can live on or off this amazingly big campus. Due to small class sizes, the instructors can give more attention to each student. UNF is located just 7 miles from the beach, and 12 miles from downtown; 2 hours from Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World, and Bush Gardens, and only 30 minutes from St. Augustine, the oldest city and home to ghosts (so it is told). Not far away is the Kennedy Space Center, Daytona Beach, Speedway, and Silver Springs. They have 79 degree programs with over 160 areas of concentration, plus pre-med and pre-law in nine different colleges. There are six sports available for men and 7 available for women, from basketball to volleyball.

Jacksonville University– JU

This private University sits on the banks of St. John’s River, minutes from downtown and the ocean. JU offers traditional liberal arts, sciences, and professional studies. JU has one of America’s largest Naval ROTC Program and advancing Aviation Program. They have an athletic department that has 18 teams. JU has a variety of cultural, social, Greek, religious, performance, and service organizations to keep students happy when they are not in school. Students can live off campus or live in Halls or apartments on campus. You can major in Biology, Chemistry, Communication, Computing Sciences, Elementary Education, English, French, Geography, History, Humanities, Marine Science, Mathematics, Nursing, Philosophy, Physical Education, Physics, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, and Spanish. Law, Medicine, Dental Medicine, Veternarian Medicine, and Pharmacy. Other degrees and programs include Accounting to Theater Arts, Orthodontics, Certificate and Master’s Programs. The Jacksonville Airport is 25 minutes away and not far from I-95.

Edward Walters College – EWC

This private historical black college was founded in 1866, closed, and then reopened in 1883. If you are looking for a career in Teaching, Technology, Research, Religion, or Politics, then this is the college for you. EWC is located near downtown and has plenty of Restaurants, Clubs/Bars, Theaters, and other nightlife. The campus offers athletics from Baseball to Volleyball. Students can find a field of study with 15 degree programs, and Bachelor Degree’s in Arts, Business Administration, and Science, Majors from Biology to Sociology. EWC also requires every student to complete courses African American History and Biblical Studies.

Jones College – JC

This College offers Diplomas, Associate, Bachelor, and Online Degrees. With 16 different programs, I am sure you will find what you are looking for. There are three campuses to give you choices two in Jacksonville and one in Miami. In 1964, this College began broadcasting. There are two radio stations, WKTZ 90.9 FM and WJAX 1220 AM. They offer Associate and Bachelor Degrees in the following programs: Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Legal Assistant, Medical Assistant, Allied Health Management, Elementary Education, and Interdisciplinary Studies. Also, two Diploma Programs. This College does not have housing for its students. They do provide links to help you find housing. There are two guest units are available for one week intervals for foreign freshmen students.

Florida Technical College of Jacksonville – FTC

This private 2 year Junior College has four locations. Jacksonville, Deland, Orlando, and Lakeland. This College was founded in 1982. They offer Associate Degrees and Diplomas in as little as 18 months, in programs like Computers and Programming, Healthcare, Design, and Business. The specialized fields with hands on learning, is what students want. This College is linked to Forefront Education, which has other locations and programs, just follow the link on JTC’s website (on the bottom of the page). They do not offer on campus housing.

ITT Technical Institute – ITT

This School has over 90 campuses. Programs are as follows: School of Information Technology, School of Electronics Technology, School of Business, School of Drafting and Design, School of Criminal Justice, and Health Sciences; Also Associate, Bachelor, and Online Degrees. There are no onsite dorms; however, the school will help you find a place. Even though ITT does not think the credits are transferable, accept to another ITT, they leave it up to the receiving institution to accept the credits. Programs of study differ on the location and the degrees offered differ as well. Not all ITT Techs offer all six schools.

FloridaSchool of Law – FSL

This School offers on or off campus housing. They also offer Certificate Programs. Future students must have completed requirements for a Bachelor Degree at an accredited College or University. This school does accept loans and grants. If you want a tour, you can make an appointment and they provide information on hotels and car rentals for your stay.

Remington College – RC

This College has 19 campuses across the U.S. This College offers Associate, Bachelor Degrees, and Diplomas in Health Science, Criminal Justice, Business, Electronics, and IT. They offer financial aid. No other info is available without appointment.

University of Phoenix North Florida Campus – UP

This University has four locations. This University offers financial aid and is a private school. They offer Bachelor and Master Degrees in Business to Psychology, as well as Certificate Programs. Founded in 1976, they also offer Online/Distant/Flexible Learning.
