Is Clumping Cat Litter Worth the Price?

Any amount of product waste is a waste of money, and those with a cat realize how much cat litter costs week after week. Much of it is wasted when the box is changed, but this is because ordinary clay litter is not economical. Sure, it costs less to begin with, but in the end a good portion of it ends up in the trash. Consider the following information on clumping cat litter, and decide for yourself it is worth the price.

The Difference Between Clumping Litter and Regular Varieties

The obvious difference between clumping litter and regular varieties is the clustering factor. Regular varieties fall apart when liquids are removed, but clumping varieties form a solid hard mass. Pound for pound, the price difference is also obvious, but it is worth it to buy a high-quality clumping variety for a few different reasons.

Cents and the Scent of Cheap Clay Litter and Clumping Varieties

Cheap clay varieties can make an entire room smell bad in just a day or two, and the same goes for clumping cat litter. Some are not worth the price, but all brands are not the same. Some claim to control odor and it ends up smelling horrendous, even when the clumps are scooped out on a daily basis. It is important to find a brand that neutralizes odor, clumps tightly, and does not require a complete change every other week. It is only worth the price if these basic requirements are met.

Complete Changes are Rarely Necessary

Read the usage directions on clumping cat litter, and some varieties suggest a complete change once a month. This is not necessary if the product works as it claims, and if these directions were followed it would not be worth the price. Some waste particles will always be too small to remove, and they will ultimately result in the need to change the entire pan, but this should not occur for months.

I have been scooping and adding clumping cat litter for two to three months, and I do not see the need to waste it. When it is scooped each day it does not smell bad, and I have definitely saved money over the non-clumping types I used to buy. I believe it is worth the price, and I will continue to buy it and replenish the box.

The Best Brands of Cheap Clumping Cat Litter

I have tried many brands of clumping cat litter, and I have found two brands that work very well to control odor. They both clump tightly, and the box does not smell bad in the least. Surprisingly they are not high in price.

Special Kitty from Walmart is one of the brands I prefer, and the other is Fine Feline from Aldi. They are both almost half of the price of some name brands, and they work just as well or better. Try Special Kitty or Fine Feline. They are worth the price because they work as expected.
