Ideas for Administrative Professional’s Day

Administrative, Office Party, Teambuilding

Administrative Professional’s Day is April 25, 2012. However, the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) encourages employers to celebrate their administrative staff for the entire work week (April 23, 2012 – April 27, 2012). With so many employees feeling underappreciated, Administrative Professional’s Week is a time in which employers can show appreciation for their staff. Organizations of all sizes and budgets can afford to make administrative professionals feel special. From office parties to themed events at an area attraction, employers have many options to celebrate their administrative staff on April 25th.

  • Office party

For employers with smaller budgets, an office party is a cost-conscious idea to celebrate your staff. Decorate the office with colorful streamers and balloons and serve cupcakes and punch to give your employees an energy boost. Order mini-cupcakes for those calorie-counting staff members.

  • Staff luncheon

Treat your staff to a nice lunch at a swanky restaurant. Take an office poll to find out which place your employees like best. Organizational tip: make the restaurant’s menu available to your staff prior to the luncheon. Encourage each person to select his or her dish so the servers will be able to spend more time serving them as opposed to getting orders straight.

  • Venture outdoors

For employers with deeper pockets, invite your staff out to an area attraction for the day. An office outing is sure to boost morale. A day out of the office can also prove to be a great teambuilding event. For a more low-key day, take your administrative professionals to a movie or a botanical garden. For a more adventurous day, try a hike or visit a theme park in your city.

If your office does not have the resources or the time for any of the ideas above, a simple, yet sincere “thank you” is always encouraged.
