If you are a fan of “Ice Road Truckers”, you probably noticed that Lisa Kelly was not among the truckers that showed up to fight the ice roads this season. According to Lisa Kelly’s Facebook posts, she still works for Carlile Transportation, but she said she wouldn’t be returning to the show this season. Though many fans have asked for reasons, little information has been offered. Lisa Kelly has answered questions asked about her health, saying she is happy and healthy.
Lisa Kelly has not said exactly why she didn’t return to the show, but she assures her fans that she is “still trucking” and will still be around. Has Lisa been offered another show about trucking? It seems that no one is answering that question either, at least not in any internet searches I could find. Many fans have stated on her Facebook page that they will no longer watch the show. Are you going to watch “Ice Road Truckers” now that Lisa Kelly isn’t part of the team?
Did the Men Truckers Run Her Off?
Hugh Rowland, better known as the Polar Bear, made no secret of the fact that he didn’t particularly like Lisa. Rowland was captured on camera several times in last year’s episodes making comments about Lisa Kelly’s abilities on the ice roads. He thought she was a danger to herself and to the other truckers in the Alaskan wilds. His dislike of Lisa even carried over to “IRT: Deadliest Roads” that was shot in Brazil, that they both starred in.
Lisa partnered with G.W. Bowles for that show, and in the beginning, his dislike of having to “take orders” from a lady trucker were quite apparent. Lisa’s ability as a tucker eventually won him over and they became friends as well as trucker’s that drove some pretty dangerous roads.
As a fan of Lisa Kelly’s, I don’t believe Lisa was “ran off” from “Ice Road Truckers.” I can’t see much of anything causing Lisa to back down. Kelly has a huge fan base and that speaks volumes for her. She regularly posts on Facebook to let her fans know what she is doing or where she is.
In time, Lisa Kelly will reveal why she is not part of the “Ice Road Truckers” series this year. Until then, I am going to wish Lisa well in whatever else she is doing. I will also continue to watch the show, even without her. You can catch the show on the History channel on Sunday nights. Who knows, Hugh Rowland might become the trucker you love to hate!
