When a neighbor’s dog is pooping in your yard it can be a frustrating situation, even if you own a dog. Inconsiderate people simply do not care where their dog goes, especially when their neighbors have dogs of their own. They figure their neighbor is already cleaning up after a dog. However, when the piles you find are larger than your dog’s head, or when cleaning up the waste takes far longer, something must be done to remedy the problem. No one wants to step in waste and track it into their home, and no one wants to have to clean up droppings left behind by a neighbor’s dog.
My neighbor’s dog was pooping in my front yard from the first day that I moved into my rented home. The home had been empty for several weeks, and the dog was allowed to wander into neighbor’s yards to do his business. The Dalmatian considered my yard his territory, and in addition to pooping in my yard, he tried to run my dog off of our front porch many times.

I found a safe and humane way to stop my neighbor’s Dalmatian from pooping on my property, and I did not make enemies in the process. I used a natural product to keep the animal away, and it worked without endangering wildlife, pets, people, foliage or the environment.

After realizing that my neighbor’s Dalmatian would more than likely continue pooping in my yard instead of his own, I began searching for a product to keep the animal away. I did not want to hurt the animal, and I did not want to confront my new neighbor. I also wanted my dog to feel safe on our porch as well as on our property. I found a product called Liquid Fence, and it worked as well as a real fence to keep stray dogs off of my property.
I bought a gallon of Liquid Fence from a local Home Depot store. It was premixed and ready to use, and it included a handy sprayer. It was only $17 a gallon, and it was very easy to use. The smell was not pleasant, but if it worked to stop my neighbor’s Dalmatian for popping in my yard, it would be worth it. I sprayed a four foot liquid barrier around my entire yard. I did not want to spray my entire yard since my dog needed a place to go. I reapplied the product after significant amounts of rain and as necessary.
After using Liquid Fence, my neighbor’s Dalmatian stopped pooping in my yard. He stopped coming into my yard altogether. I witnessed the dog walking up to the property line, but he quickly turned around and finished his business in his own yard. I was thrilled with the way Liquid Fence repelled the neighbor’s dog, and it did not harm the lawn.
