How to Make a Little Extra Money Online (Mechanical Turk)

Mechanical Turk

1) First we need to sign up for an account here : https://www.mturk.com/mturk/welcome it may take a few days for them to approve you, but then you can begin making some extra money from home. Basically this site offers workers to clients who wish to pay others less to do trivial tasks. But it also houses one of the best legitimate survey spots on the internet, true surveys, not people trying to force their product down your throat under the guise of it being a survey.

2) Some of the hits are very small amounts of money, that might require you to rate the rank of a keyword on a Google, others might involve you writing a small essay. There are two hundred thousand plus hits at any given time, so if you look hard enough I’m almost positive you can find some work. But that’s not what this article is about, I want to hand over a few pointers to make you a little more money, sooner.

3) First thing we want to do is go to the search bar and type the keyword SURVEY that pays at least 0.45 click the tab that says (for which you are qualified) and now we can click (go). As you progress through these I would also suggest to define your search by (newest first) offered at the top left of the screen. It will show you the most recent hits, sometimes they are only up for a few moments, especially the good ones, this gives you ample time to find them before others do. If you run out of results take the price down to a quarter or search study instead of survey. Basically you accept a hit, and you complete the task or survey and submit that hit, usually with a special code you receive at the end of the survey. But some just require you to submit the hit, some will seem longer to do than they have allocated time for you to do it in, in those cases you can just accept the hit late after working on it for a few minutes.

4) When doing surveys for colleges I recommend being very thorough, it only takes one messed up survey for them to basically blacklist you from all future work. So pay attention to the text and don’t miss the measures they put in place to ensure that you read it, most will have one or two traps like that. But as you progress you will find that more surveys will be available to you, keeping a good rapport with the major colleges such as Yale, Harvard & Princeton is essential. They put up some of the best hits and in most cases are really fun and pay extremely well compared to others.

5) Another site you want to check out is : http://code.reddit.com/wiki/help/faqs/HITsWorthTurkingFor that houses a community of people that keep up with the best paying hits and where to locate them, there is also a huge database of help topics related to finding hits worth while, I hope you guys can use what I’ve given you here to get started, I’ve made over 200$ with hardly any effort in about 2 months. I’m sure anyone could do the same if not more, please feel free to comment about your experience with Mechanical Turk.
