How to Make a Fall Floral Centerpiece

Fall Centerpieces, Fall Decor, Floral Arrangements, Silk Flowers

With fall fast approaching, decorating your home simply can be done with silk floral arrangements that can last through Thanksgiving. Silk floral arrangements can add a touch of fall decor to any home.

Silk floral arrangements are easy to make. They are also cheaper to make than purchasing premade floral arrangements. Silk floral arrangements last longer than live flowers.

By adding extra touches such as fall colored candles can add an ambiance to any fall floral decoration. Fall candles can be found in oranges, yellows, and reds. Fall candles can also be found in the shapes of pumpkins, corn, and the regular shapes.

The base of any fall floral arrangement can be any item already in the home, purchased at retail stores or even from stores such as Goodwill and the DAV. The base of the floral arrangement for the photos accompanying this article was purchased at my local Goodwill. We also purchased the base for the candle at the Goodwill. The total for the two bases was $1.98.

We purchased the silk flowers at Walmart for $0.94 a bunch. I used three bunches of silk flowers for the arrangement. The cost of the silk flowers was $2.82. The Styrofoam squares cost $1.47 for three squares. The Styrofoam square cost for one was $0.49. We purchased the pumpkin candle at General Dollar for $2.00.

The total cost for these two fall centerpieces cost a total of $7.29 plus tax. The two centerpieces took me a total of 20 minutes to put together. While they are not as fancy as some centerpieces found in stores, they will make pleasant decorations for any room in my home.

The flower pot is a terra cotta plant pot that was already painted when purchased for $0.99 in a pleasant fall decor that can be used through Thanksgiving. The pumpkin candle centerpiece can be used through Thanksgiving as well.

The basic steps for setting up a fall floral centerpieces are as follows.

Cut the silk floral bunches apart with a pair of pliers or flower cutters.

Push the foam square into the flower pot.

Place the silk flowers in a pleasing way into the foam until the foam square can’t be seen.

Using a shorter container for your floral arrangement will allow you to leave it on the table during dinners. Shorter floral arrangements will allow those sitting at the table to be able to see everyone who is dining at the table.

For the candle centerpiece, I taped the orange ribbon around the base for the candle for an extra added touch of color. I also taped the fall leaves to the bottom of the base so they would stay in place. Sit the candle on top of the leaves.

By using cheaper silk flowers, candles, and bases, a person can fully decorate their home at a fraction of a home interior decorator or premade arrangements.
