How to Get Jennifer Garner’s Hairstyle

Garner, Hair Wax, Hollywood Glamour, Paul Mitchell

Jennifer Garner, star of the recent film Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, is one of the most beautiful women alive. Aside from a spectacular figure and Hollywood glamour, Jennifer is blessed with the most luxurious hair a girl could want. Whether she is working on film, walking the red carpet or enjoying family time, Jennifer’s hair always looks its best. Her style is her own but I’m going to tell you how to have hair like Jennifer Garner.

For formal occasions, Jennifer Garner’s hair is usually upswept in smooth, silky swirls or forms a crown of gently cascading curls. But it is her “let down” look that turns heads. Shining and lush, Jennifer’s look seesaws between sleek and straight or full and wavy. Whether she tucks it behind her ears or frames her face with her locks, Jennifer’s long tresses caressing her shoulders are what I’m going to focus on.

Jennifer’s face is definitely square which is why she often wears bangs. Bangs soften the edges and corners. They are cut with soft angles to balance the shape of her face. Swept to the side, they give her a sultry look.

Getting Started

Start with clean, towel-dried hair. Apply a mousse like John Frieda Luxurious Volume Bountiful Body Mousse available at Walgreens, Wal-Mart and other stores for about $7. This mousse gives hair thickness, fullness and lift and leaves it soft to the touch. Work it throughout your hair. Comb you r hair and part the hair to the left.

The Blow Dry

Use a radial brush – a brush with bristles all the way around a cylinder – and dry the back, turning the hair under in gentle curls as you go. Next dry the sides, also turning them under. This will provide the soft waves that Jennifer enjoys. Make sure hair is thoroughly dry before moving to next step.

The Hot Rollers

Use large heat rollers. All you want is soft waves, not tight curls. Wind medium to thick locks of hair around the rollers, starting with the back. Roll each lock and pin in place. Continue rolling the sides. Allow hair to completely cool. Remove the rollers when cooled.

Finishing Touches

Piece the ends using hair wax. Hair wax, like Paul Mitchell’s Dry Wax, helps increase the hold in curls and when applied to the tips, help control split ends. You can expect to pay about $13 for this hair wax. Rub a small amount into your fingertips and rub through your hair to coat strands or chunks of hair. Next apply a smoothing shine to further control frizz and add shine. Paul Mitchell’s Gloss Drops resists humidity and leaves hair silky. You can find this for about $18 in most department or drug stores. Finally, apply hair spray to prevent fly away hairs.
