Baby Colic can be frustrating for the mom and baby. Your baby has started crying and you can’t figure out what is wrong. If you understand these frustrating emotions, you probably are ready to try anything to relief the agony of a colicky baby.

These remedies have not only my babies but babies throughout time. Call them what you will, when push comes to shove, we just want our babies happy, content and colic free. Some of these remedies are funny to read, but believe me. When you are desperate, you will try just about anything. Enjoy these remedies!

What is Colic?

If you are wondering if your baby has colic, here are a few clues to look for:

• A Baby that cries more than three hours a day

• A baby that cries for more than three days a week

• a baby that cries more than three weeks in a row

Yep, that’s about it. A baby that won’t stop crying could be a baby with colic. Of course, you need to rule out sickness first and foremost. After that, colic is always on mother’s minds. Could my baby have colic?

If you are scared, that is a normal reaction. To have a baby that won’t stop crying can be as exhaustive as emotional. We want our babies happy, and when there aren’t, well, it is frustrating. Remember that your baby will outgrow being colic. It takes time. If you are really worried, talk to your doctor. Tell him/her the symptoms to verify that your baby has colic.

If your baby has colic, you’ve know doubt learned to live with a crying baby. No matter how much you hate the sound of your little one crying, it doesn’t end. The best way to cope with a colicky baby is to learn how to cope. Find those little things that make your baby stop crying. And repeat them often. That is where colic home remedies can help. Try each remedy to find the one your baby likes as no remedy will work for every baby. Be willing to experiment with home remedies to find the one that works for you.

• Turn on some music.

• Watch an old movie.

• Keep walking around while holding colicky baby.

Basically, whenever you get a chance, keep life as normal as possible. I know, it isn’t possible, so don’t even think normal will resemble your old life. The best you can do is to cope, endure, and pray for a non-colicky baby.

Baby Oil Remedy

If you need a quick remedy for a colicky baby, try taking some olive oil and rubbing it onto their feet as the gentle massage can be soothing to the baby. Once you are finished, just put on their baby socks and hope for the best!

Washing Machine Remedy

Remember, I did say desperate. Sometimes, there are times when nothing is working. For those times, dry turning on the washing machine and sit on top of it. The sound and rumble of the washing machine can soothe your baby. Believe me; I’ve sat on my washing machine for more hours than I care to admit. When I am at my worst, I will try just about anything. All those moms out there can shout out a, “Amen!”

Belly Rub Remedy

What baby doesn’t love a good belly massage? If your colicky baby hasn’t stopped crying, try to rub his/her belly gently. Talk in a soothing voice and hope for the best. Remember, every baby will respond to a different remedy. Be willing to try a few to find what your baby responds best too.

Pacifier Remedy

Babies want to suck. Either give the baby a finger to suck on, or give the baby a pacifier to help soothe the baby and help him/her sleep.

Coke and Water Remedy

Make sure all the fizz is gone when you create a 50/50 mixture of coke and water. This can be put into a bottle to the baby. There is something about the coke mixture that seems to work.

Chamomile Tea Remedy

Boil water and add a chamomile tea bag. Once the cup of tea has cooled completely, add a little to the baby bottle. Give to the baby. This can not only help them sleep but soothe an aching belly.
