Help for Dry Eyes: Ciba Vision Clerz

Contact Lens, Dry Eyes, Eye Drops, Eye Infections, Visine

Contact lens wearers are often prone to dry and irritated eyes. Unfortunately, the store shelves are often lined with an endless supply of eye drops and dry eye formulas for those who do not wear contacts on a regular basis. There are only a few eye drops on the market that are made especially for contact lens wearers. Clerz, by Ciba Vision, is the brand that I prefer as a contact lens wearer. Ciba Vision has an established reputation for making quality products in the contact lens industry.

I have been using Ciba Vision’s Clerz, for the past five years, as needed. I had originally received the recommendation from my opthamologist after I mentioned that there were days when my contacts felt like hard plastic irritants stuck to my eyes at the end of the day. I have worn soft contacts since I was 14, and generally wear them at least 12 hours each day.

A few years ago I developed a case of keratitis (infection of the cornea) after falling asleep in my contacts. Since that time, I find that I need to use Clerz eye drops many days to keep my eyes from feeling dry or irritated. It is fairly common for contact lens wearers to experience dryness with extended wear or when the eyes are irritated.

Clerz offers relief to contact lens wearers. I have tried Visine and other alternatives, but most eye drops require the removal of contact lenses before application. Ciba Vision’s Clerz allows the consumer to use the eye drops while wearing contact lenses.

Clerz is my brand of choice after trying others eye drop brands and variations. The Clerz drops are not irritating to the eyes, even with contacts in. The recommended application is for one drop in each eye as needed. When my eyes are dry, I use Clerz at least once a day and more often if needed.

Ciba Vision Clerz can also be used for dry eyes associated with eye strain from looking at a computer screen for long hours. Clerz helps to combat some of the dryness after wearing your contacts for extended periods of time outside of normal wear. ThOne of the main challenges for contact wearers is trying to keep the eyes healthy and contact lenses from feeling dehydrated. Clerz is can be helpful with both goals.

Contact lens wearers are often more prone to eye infections than those who do not insert contacts into their eyes on a regular basis. Extra care is often needed to maintain moisture levels in the eyes.

I recommend Ciba Vision Clerz based on my experience using the drops for the past few years. The price may seem steep for such a tiny bottle, but it is abot the same as other name brand eye drops and worth the added comfort to your eyes. Ciba Vision has single use vials of Clerz that you can use for travel or while away from home.

Clerz eye drops must be kept sterile by never allowing the tip of the eye drops container to come in contact with your eyes or other surfaces. Contamination of the Clerz eye drops could promote bacteria growth in the eye drop solution and cause eye infections. The single vial size Clerz eye drops may be best for those who plan to carry the drops with them on a regular basis.

The retail price for Ciba Vision Clerz is approximately $7.99. Clerz eye drops can be found at many retail stores and drug stores. Online companies also sell Clerz in the eye care departments if they are not available in your area.
