Hannah Montana: Top 10 Songs

Miley Stewart

Hannah Montana has taken the world of the teenage girl by storm with her positive attitude and high-energy songs. Well, technically, it is Miley Cyrus playing Miley Stewart, whose alter ego is Rock Star Hannah Montana, that deserves all the credit… If you didn’t get all that, find a ten year old girl, and she’ll explain it to you.

Now, out of the hit Disney show Hannah Montana, several CD’s and some great songs have emerged, released as Hannah Montana. Hannah Montana songs typically come in four basic styles.

As a running joke on the show, several of Hannah’s songs relate to her character’s dual lifestyle as a pop star and an ordinary teenager, including one of her top songs, and the theme song from the show, “The Best of Both Worlds”.

The second type of song that you typically hear from Hannah Montana are songs that offer advice to the listener. This is a Disney show, and Miley is playing a teenager who faces the same situations all teenagers do, though slightly exaggerated. Therefore, many of her top songs, relate to something that has happened during the episode. For example, in the episode, “Get Down, Study-udy-udy”, Miley is having trouble in science class, and “Nobody’s Perfect” is a song that explains that while it is okay to mess up sometimes, success comes from practice “again and again till you get it right”.

Other great songs in the advice category, include “Who Said” (You can be anything you want to be…), “I Got Nerve” (I know who I am and I’m confident…), “Life’s What You Make It” (Don’t let life get you downHave a Positive Attitude), and “Make Some Noise” (Be yourself, You are Stronger than you realizeStand up and “make some noise).

The third category that Hannah Montana songs typically fall into are the “fun to be a teenager” songs. These are songs with great beats and fun lyrics that get girls up on their feet and singing in the mirror. Some of her best songs fit very nicely here, including “Rock Star” and “We Got the Party.

As she has gotten older, more and more songs pertain to relationships and dating, which is the fourth and final category. She’s got a couple of standouts in this category. “He Could Be The One” is a cute little pop song . Also in this category is my favorite Hannah song. More of a wistful song, “If We Were A Movie”, is about the age-old problem of the girl in love with the guy who only sees her only as a friend.

Hannah’s time is limited, as Miley’s career is taking off. Hopefully, Miley has taken some of Hannah’s good advice to heart over the years, and never forgets that this is where it all started.
