I was asked to write an article about the Grace Fellowship Church. When I went to research the church, I found close to a hundred, possibly even more. So which one was I suppose to write about?
Well I decided to write about the Grace Fellowship Church in Mokena, IL. I liked their website and what it had to say and offer. I like websites that have something to offer. To let their followers having something to grasp that is their own. A community within the church walls. Grace Fellowship Church is a community of Christians that are everyday and ORDINARY people who have experienced an EXTRA-ORDINARY God!
Small Groups at the Grace Fellowship Church – – Are you involved?
My husband and I belong to a small group at our church, and we love it. Many more churches these days are opening small groups within their community church. It makes a wonderful way to get together with other Christians your age to have a small bible study group.
What are small groups?
Small groups are small Bible studies, between 6-10 people that meet during the week to pray worship, and study the Bible. One of the purposes of small groups is to make the church more intimate.
Why are they important?
The importance of small groups cannot be overemphasized. Within a group, you will be able to get deeper into God’s Word then a Sunday service could allow for; you will make friends with whom you can build up and encourage to walk closer to God.
You will be blessed being able to share, pray, and learn with others and will have opportunities to grow and minister together as a group. There are small groups for all ages and genders, and even general groups for people whose only bond may be their love for Christ.
Finding and joining a small group is very simple. If you know someone at the church who is already in one, then ask to tag along to the next study. Otherwise, here are beginning points for getting involved.

Call up the host or facilitator, at Grace Fellowship Church. The facilitator will be able to answer questions you have about the group. You may also call the host if you have any questions about the directions listed as well.
Attend the small group.
Remember to bring your Bible, pen, and lesson plan from the Sunday service. Most of these small groups utilizes God’s word in a gathering, and sometimes they discuss the future weeks ahead. Most times you take turns reading aloud to each other straight from the bible, so don’t forget yours. Small groups are always happy to have somebody new show up. If you feel nervous at first, don’t worry, most people do. The facilitator of the group can help to make you feel welcome.
This website for this church, Grace Fellowship Church is inviting, and welcoming to all. It is a non-denominational church that takes pride in offering outlets to all groups of people, so they can come together. They have men’s groups, women’s, young teens; they even have one for children (which I have not seen before.) But of course it makes sense, as even the little ones are tainted with sin, and need the fellowship of other children surrounding them. We work better when we flock together. I would visit this church if I was in the area.
