2011 NFL Week 14 Predictions and Picks

It’s time to make my 2011 NFL week 14 predictions and picks. It’s sad the season is coming closer to ending–but the predictions must go on.

Let’s start with the Thursday night game of Cleveland at Pittsburgh. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that these two teams are headed in different directions. Pittsburgh looks to be on a collision course with the New England Patriots in the playoffs. The Browns look like a team playing for a higher draft pick. Keep in mind this Thursday night NFL game is at Heinz Field and things just don’t look too good for Browns fans. Steelers win big 34-13. Big Ben tosses 3 touchdown passes and the Steelers defense returns one turnover for a touchdown.

On to the Sunday week 14 NFL schedule. Kansas City, fresh off a road win over Chicago, will play at the New York Jets. The Chiefs are as unpredictable as they come. But I still believe the Jets will find a way to beat K.C. at home. Sanchez rips off three touchdown passes in a 24-17 victory.

Tampa Bay is reeling and things might not get too much better in Jacksonville. The Bucs could turn things around and finish strong with a few wins down the stretch-or will they play for a better draft pick? I think the Bucs will play tough still but lose a close one 26-20. Maurice Jones-Drew runs for 175 yards and two scores against on the worst NFL rushing defenses.

New England heads to Washington to face the Redskins. Tom Brady is on a mission this season and his stat line certainly proves it. More Brady antics lead the Pats to a 31-17 victory. Brady hits Wes Welker for 2 touchdowns and tosses 295 yards worth of passing.

Atlanta is at Carolina in what could be a pivotal game for the Falcons. Cam Newton is exposing defenses week in and week out with his legs and arms. Can the Falcons slow him down? I think the Panthers win a tight one 30-24 in overtime.

Indianapolis isn’t probably going to get win number one in Baltimore. In fact, I think the Ravens might crush the Colts 26-10. Ray Rice gets 2 more touchdowns as the Colts seriously threaten a winless season.

Philadelphia is in Miami to face the suddenly tough Dolphins. I think Miami has a lot going in the right direction right now and it won’t let up against the Eagles. Reggie Bush gets 95 yards and 2 scores and the Dolphins win 24-20.

Minnesota is on the road in Detroit to face the Lions. What are my 2011 NFL week 14 predictions and picks for this one? I’ll take the Lions in a 34-17 victory. Matthew Stafford throws for 325 yards and 3 scores.

New Orleans is in Tennessee for what could be an entertaining and high scoring game. The Titans are playing better lately but the Saints still put up tons of points against everyone. I think the Titans might actually pull off the upset here in Nashville. Tennessee wins 30-27 on the strength of a late field goal from Rob Bironas.

Houston is on the road in Cincy. Can the Bengals win a crucial game at home? I think the answer is absolutely yes. Andy Dalton tosses 356 yards worth of passing with 2 touchdowns to A.J. Green in a 31-23 win.

Chicago is at Denver to face the suddenly explosive Broncos. Can anyone tame Tim Tebow? The Bears defense is one of the most likely teams to slow him down–but will they have enough offense to back it up?
I think the Broncos will get a huge 23-13 victory here at Invesco Field. Tim Tebow finally doesn’t need a miracle finish to win an NFL game.

San Francisco travels to Arizona. Who will win this NFL week 14 battle? I think the Cardinals will pull off the upset-beating the 49’ers to the surprise of many. Cardinals win 23-20.

Buffalo heads to San Diego to face the Chargers. Neither of these teams are headed in the right direction as the season winds down so that makes this matchup quite unpredictable. When in doubt-go with the home team. Chargers roll at home 34-20.

Oakland will visit Green Bay also in week 14. Can the Raiders rebound from a tough loss in Miami? No way, no how. The Packers blast Oakland 38-16. Aaron Rodgers tosses 4 more touchdown passes.

The New York Giants are in the Big D to face the Dallas Cowboys. Can the Giants win a crucial road game? It’s quite possible depending on which team shows up. I say the not so good team shows up for this division contest and the Cowboys win 28-20.

The final game for week 14 takes place Monday night when St. Louis travels to Seattle. I think the Seahawks have this one all day. Seattle blasts the Rams 26-9.

That’s it for my 2011 NFL week 14 predictions and picks. I’ll be back in week 15 with another round of picks! Until then-have a great week everyone!!
