George Clooney’s Movie Up in the Air

I just got done watching Up in the Air with George Clooney. It was a light hearted movie about a business man that travels around firing people for a living. Clooney’s character Ryan enjoys the traveling lifestyle and claims that his home is the airplane. He belongs to all of the special clubs and has all the mileage cards that come with a lifetime of travel. He is also a motivation speaker that talks about letting go of relationship and all physical things that weigh us down in life. A new young associate comes to work in his firm, played by Anna Kendrick, and threatens to throw the work digital. Kendrick’s character, Natalie, makes the firing process impersonal by making it into a video chat. Despite his tough persona, Clooney’s character shows her that there is a reason they travel to do their busy. Throughout the movie his character develops an emotional relationship with a fellow traveler and businesswomen.

This movie is great. It is light heart with a lot of symbolism. I could find a bit of someone I knew in each character. There are a lot of twists in the end. It did not end how I had expected. George Clooney is always a great actor but I think it is the story the is the most wonderful part of the whole movie. There are a lot of though provoking moments that may spark a conversation or two with your family. I would highly recommend it.
