Below are some free knitting patterns for various placemats. If you like to knit, you could make some of these placemats for your home or to give away as gifts. Knitted Placemat Pattern #1 – Checkerboard Placemat: This placemat is a very easy one to knit, so it’s a good pattern for beginners. The placemat is uses only one color. It’s not red and black like you might think. The checkerboard is incorporated into the design by alternating knit and purl stitches. Have fun with the placemat patterns and feel free to change them to your liking. You can use bright and bold colors if you want or you can use peaceful pastels.
