A fantastic new store opened in my neck of the woods. I am so impressed with Five Below that I had to write an article about it! Five Below is a hip, updated version of the five and dime stores of yesteryear. Nothing in the store is priced higher than five dollars and there truly is something for everyone. I defy anyone to walk out of Five Below empty handed. Five Below carries such a wide variety of products, it is hard to know where to begin shopping when entering the store.
Much of Five Below’s merchandise seems to be geared toward the teen and preteen age bracket. Fashionable ipod and cell phone accessories were displayed in several areas of the store and were going like hotcakes. Hello Kitty purses and hair accessories were being admired and scooped up by groups of enthusiastic girls. Board shorts and boogie boards were popular with the young guys in the store. I saw one young man with an armful of shorts and his very happy mother making their way to the register. No doubt, she was pleased she just bought his summer wardrobe for less than thirty or forty dollars!
The little ones are not left out at Five Below either. Craft kits, chalk buckets and kites are available at Five Below with plenty of variety to choose from. Games, books, and beach toys were being exclaimed over by the kids and happily purchased by the parents. The deals were not to be passed up…not a thing over five dollars!
I had never heard of Five Below before they moved into my area and my first thought was that it would be just a little better than a dollar store. This couldn’t be farther from the truth! Most dollar stores carry brands that you have never heard of . Five Below carries Bell bike and scooter helmets, Scene It dvd games and I Spy computer software. Crayola crayons and markers are sold at a fraction of the price you find at most retailers. While looking through their dvd area, I found “Lord Of The Rings” and “Bridget Jones” for five dollars. Five Below carries Simpsons, Dora The Explorer and Spongebob backpacks, purses and tee shirts. I am looking forward to doing much of my Christmas shopping at Five Below this year!
Five Below was very clean and well organized. Games, electronics and clothing items were grouped accordingly and arranged neatly with easy access for shoppers. The staff was courteous and helpful and a strong presence on the sales floor should any customers have questions or need assistance. Overall, I was extremely impressed with all aspects of this store.
Five Below has more than fifty stores in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia. If you are lucky enough to live in one of these states; run, don’t walk to your Five Below. Just make sure you bring someone along to carry all the bags!
