father's day gift idea

First time Dads are in a bit of a bind when it comes to Father’s Day. Mom has had all the attention and probably most of the interaction bonding time with the new baby, so where does Dad fit in?

Dad’s very first Father’s Day should be a special celebration.

What would the new baby give Dad for Father’s Day if she could?

Perhaps Mom can help to see he gets the message that he is greatly appreciated and loved.

EVERY brand new Dad needs a T-shirt with a picture of his pride and joy on it! It is a traditional Father’s Day Gift but can be personalized to match Dad’s interests.

No-NOT the latest fishing boat! The BABY of course!

Mom can get one made online or even make one herself with the help of a digital camera, and special transfer paper in her computer printer! OF course make sure baby’s name is mentioned in bold letters reading something along the lines of; “Proud Dad to Baby Lee!

Another useful Father’s Day gift for the new Dad to help him in the changing of those ‘extra loaded’ diapers is ‘A Diaper Change Survival Kit’ which can easily be put together! This should include the usual basic supplies for the baby end; diapers, ointment, baby wipes and a toss away bag, but don’t forget those supplies Dad may need like, Rubber gloves- elbow length, a clothespin for the nose, unless you want to upgrade to a regulation gas mask, goggles to protect the eyes, in case dear Dad forgets about a young son’s unannounced water works when exposed to a cool breeze! Economy size can of air freshener and maybe Tums to help settle Dad’s tummy should round things out nicely, place it all in a tool box or tackle box if Dad is a fishing enthusiast ( Just be sure this is NOT the one he takes fishing!!!)

A Father’s Day Gift that baby would give Dad may be some very special bonding time.

Mom can help with this one by getting the new baby all clean and cuddly for the night. Checking once more that there are no ‘surprises’ in the diaper and then handing a happy content baby to Dad rather than the usual cranky one he sees prior to nap time! Encourage baby to give Dad baby bubble kisses or snuggle just right into the crook of his neck and click a picture of the new baby and brand new Dad enjoying some quality bonding moments.

This can be a two -for- one special Father’s Day gift if Mom has found a special picture frame to put this

Oh so cute picture in and send it to work for Dad to keep on his desk.

While on the subject pictures, another traditional Father’s Day gift idea is a new wallet, but this year more than ever make sure there is plenty of room for pictures of baby! Dads won’t usually carry ‘brag books’ like Mom and Grandma, but a wallet is the manly alternative so make sure it has a photo section. Lacking room for photos in a wallet, get one of those credit card holders, they work nicely as a ‘brag book’ and Dad has it camouflaged in such a way he can spring it on unsuspecting co-workers during those ‘business lunches!

Last but not least, a Father’s Day gift that the new Dad will really appreciate may just be some one on one time with the new Mom! Grandma and Grandpa can help out with this one by insisting on keeping their newest grandbaby overnight and giving the new Dad a gift certificate to his favorite restaurant and a couple of movie passes!
