So, the first thing you need to do with this Father’s Day craft is measure how wide and tall your pillow is.

Cut two-piece of fun foam out to this size, but add about 2 inches. F you have a very thick pillow, then add three or four inches.

Your fun foam can be one color for the front and one color for the back; it is up to you 9or the kids)!

Now, it is time to start decorating. Have the kids cut out thick letters to spell out “Happy Father’s Day!” If you have more than one child making a pillow, then you can have one pillow simply say “DAD!” One pillow could even be words that mean Dad to the kids! Let the kids get creative here.

Now, after the fun foam letters have been cut out go ahead and glue them into place on the pillow cover.

While the letters are drying in place the kids can use more fun foam to cut out shapes lines, images, squiggles, and more to finish decorating the pillow!

Glue these fun foam cuts out on the pillow as well. Make sure the kids decorate the front and back of the pillow.

Now, once all of the glue has dries. Place the back fun foam face down on your work surface.

Lay the pillow insert on top. Finally, top off with the front fun foam pillow cover face up.

Have the kids use straight pins to hold the pillow cover together.

Now, use some yarn in a tapestry needle to sew this Father’s Day Pillow together. Choose a bright accent color of yarn.

Have the kids tie a knot in the end of the yarn and start stitching a line around the pillow. The yarn should be visible and act as a fun color detail on the Father’s Day craft! The kids can sew this any way they want!

Once they have sewn the whole Father’s Day pillow together, tie the end of the yarn off in a knot and cut off any extra string.

You are finished!

Tip: Kids may want to use the yarn to pretend stitch their cut outs on after the glue has dried!
