Farm Rich Breaded Cheese Sticks

Mozzarella, Toaster Ovens

Health
Certain aspects of Farm Rich Breaded Cheese Sticks are comparatively healthier than other brands of frozen mozzarella sticks. When purchasing this dairy food product, I noticed that they did not have any Trans fat. That was good to know but Farm Rich Breaded Cheese Sticks do contain a lot of saturated fat. The 3.5 grams of saturated fat makes up 18% of something that adults and children do not even need. There is also 9 grams (14%) of total fat per serving from boxes of these frozen mozzarella sticks.

Not much is needed to realize that Farm Rich Breaded Cheese Sticks are not good for people who are dieting or maintaining a healthy lifestyle. They also contain 10 milligrams (3%) of cholesterol, 430 milligrams (18%) of sodium and 14 grams (5%) of carbohydrates. The nutritional value for these Breaded Cheese Sticks include 7 grams of protein, 2 grams of fiber and 15% calcium. They also provide 6% Vitamin A, 4% iron and 6% Vitamin C. A reduced amount of fats and sodium would improve the frozen mozzarella sticks.

Quality
The frozen mozzarella sticks that I purchased came in a small plastic bag inside of one 10 ounce box. I was convinced that there would be more cheese sticks than were found. After opening the box, I noticed that this packaging was merely an illusion when it comes to contents. There are nine pieces of Farm Rich Breaded Cheese Sticks in each box. These frozen mozzarella sticks also came with one large container of marinara dipping sauce.

Saving some of the marinara sauce helped to prevent me from having dry Cheese Sticks. Based on the package directions, I had the option of deep frying or baking Farm Rich Breaded Cheese Sticks in a conventional or toaster oven. I chose the toaster oven option because it would be healthier. One downside to baking these frozen mozzarella sticks is that you have to turn them once on each side. Doing so was the only way that I could get them crispy all around.

I had to pay close attention to these breaded cheese sticks while cooking. After a few minutes, cheese starts to escape out of the breaded sticks. That can cause a mess on baking sheets if you are not paying attention and leave them in an oven for long durations. I did not enjoy all of the crumbs that fall while preparing Farm Rich Breaded Cheese Sticks. They make up for this nuisance by not being as greasy as some restaurant menu options.

Price
Farm Rich Breaded Cheese Sticks are not cheap, costing around $4 a box. The regular price was $3.79 but I purchased them on sale for $3.49. That was only a savings of 30 cents but every little discount helps for small grocery items like Farm Rich Breaded Cheese Sticks. I have yet to find any coupons for this product but costs almost the same a one side order from a restaurant. Therefore, Farm Rich Breaded Cheese Sticks may actually help to save money compared to ordering out.

Taste Test
Farm Rich Breaded Cheese Sticks taste great and are lightly seasoned. I took some of the mozzarella cheese out and ate it separately, noticing lots of great flavor. The marinara sauce it delicious and adds a zesty taste to each breaded mozzarella stick. I noticed that once they start to get cold or room temperature, Farm Rich Breaded Cheese Sticks harden. The cheese stays gooey and tasty while hot but still has good flavor at room temperature.

Verdict
They are smaller than some of those thick mozzarella sticks served at neighborhood pizza restaurants, which can be appreciated. Based on the quantity, it seems that one purchase of Farm Rich Breaded Cheese Sticks can only feed two people. The food product only lasted for two days because I heated five initially and finished all four remaining mozzarella sticks on the following day. Farm Rich Breaded Cheese Sticks are great to have for a snack or side dish. It does not take more than 10 minutes to cook these frozen mozzarella sticks if your oven or cooking oil is preheated. The duration can depend on your cooking methods between deep frying, toaster ovens and conventional ovens.
