The idea that ghosts and spirits exist has always been appeasing to us. But where can you find them? Believe it or not, there are a countless number of locations across America and the world where paranormal activity has been captured and recorded. Whether you are a brave ghost hunter or a curious citizen, it helps to have a list of areas where paranormal activity has been known to exist. Therefore, I have put together one such list here for your convenience.

There is a house in a town called Amityville that is famous for the events that took place there in which a family was supposedly plagued by demonic spirits. It has been the subject of a book and a movie. The address of the house has been changed to discourage ghost hunters from seeking it.

Some say that the famous maximum security prison Alcatraz is haunted by the ghosts of inmates who lived and died there. It is located on an island in San Francisco Bay.

Athens, Ohio is said to be one of the most haunted places in America. The five cemeteries surrounding it seem to form a pentagram when connected. Ohio University is dead at the center of this pentagram. Ohio University is also said to be one of the most haunted colleges in the world. Athens is famous for it’s lunatic asylum, where the infamous “Dr. Lobotomy” made frequent visits.

Gettysburg, Pennsylvania is the site of one of the most famous battles of the American Civil War. It is said to be haunted by the spirits of the soldiers who fought and died there. It is also said that during the battle, Union forces were rallied by the spirit of George Washington to charge the Confederates with their bayonets after they ran low on ammunition.

Los Angeles is famous for the number of celebrities who live there and for the supposed number of dead celebrities who still reside there. There are many locations throughout the city where the ghosts of deceased celebrities have been sighted by the inhabitants.

We have all heard of the Legend Of Sleepy Hollow but how many of us have known that it is actually a real place? Sleepy Hollow, New York is the subject of many ghost stories, including that of the Lady in White and the famous Headless Horseman. Many residents of Sleepy Hollow claim that the town/village is haunted by these ghosts and more.

The White House, home of our president, is reported to be haunted by several spirits of past presidents including Kennedy and Lincoln.

The Winchester House in San Jose, California is an enormous house built by Sarah Winchester to protect her from the spirits of those who had been killed by the line of weapons her husband produced. It is reported to be haunted by her and possibly several other spirits.
