Fall Wedding Colors and Ideas

Bold Colors, Ivory, Warm Colors, Wedding Colors

Fall is the time to feel cozy, the warm colors exemplify relaxation. If you are interested in having your wedding in the fall, look forward to utilizing anything that reminds you of the season, think warmth. Fortunately this time of year allows you to use pumpkins and wheat stalks in elegance. When autumn begins to bloom and the leaves are changing color it’s a painted canvas for your wedding. These colors and more can be used in many ways. There are many colors that fall provides. You won’t just see red; you’ll see different kinds of reds. The wonderful benefit to this season is that you can use nature as your pallet.

Colors: Faded yellows, Burnt oranges, Burgundy, Rich reds, Rust, Bronze, Gold, Copper, Taupe, and Chocolate brownsare the colors that represent fall. You can incorporate these colors into others that will make for a beautiful ceremony. Other Colors: Light greens, Blue, Pink, Terra cotta, Ivory, Plum, Purples, Silver and Whites.


Combine:

1. Ivory, White: you can integrate many colors into them. Use them as the highlight for the colors you choose.

2. Rich browns with Purples: Think eggplant and grapes with acorns and wheat stalks. Thin tree branches can be utilized and still give an elegant appearance.

3. Deep Blues, Periwinkle and Silver: Combine Navy Blue with Periwinkle or a moderate pink and highlight it with silver. You can use thin silver wiring to emphasize a brown basket.

4. Deep reds and lavender: Combine these colors with burgundy and plum.

5. Yellow and Bronze: There are many shades of yellow. You can mix yellow with many colors. It’s a beautiful highlight. Copper, gold, plum, greens, reds and burnt oranges would heighten any yellow tone.

6. Deep Blues with Golds: This would give a sensation of warmth.

7. Fiery and Deep Reds: These define Romance. You can incorporate oranges into them as well.

Different times of the season call for different color schemes. At the beginning of autumn the colors are still lighter. Greens, yellows, light oranges, light browns. The middle of the season the colors will begin to darken. And at the end the colors will be bold and dark. This is a good time to incorporate deep golds, burgandy, navy blues, copper and burnt oranges. As I mentioned before, Ivory is a great color for any time and should be used as a highlight for the colors you choose. With all the colors you can always add the pinks, peaches, silver and greens. Those colors are also great highlights for your base colors.

Dresses:

Fall isn’t just deep vibrant colors, natural tones such as sage green is nicely used when applying color into the attire. Some beautiful colors for your bridesmaids would be pinks, purples, light golds, greens and different shades of browns. Look at your skin, and think of what would complement your skin tone. Not everyone looks good in bold colors, so keep that in mind when choosing dresses.

Décor

You can do a lot when choosing décor. If you really want to incorporate fall use Pumpkins, Gourds, Wheat stalks, Indian corn (and dried ears), Acorns, Squashes, Apples, Pomegranate, Leaves, Thin tree branches. For center pieces, use baskets woven with glittery silver wiring, raffia, or different colored ribbon as accents. Fill them with the ideas from above. Make the chairs appealing to the eye by covering them with ivory fabric and tying a color of your choice around them. Make the bow stand out, use a bold vibrant color to bring out the ivory. Use candles at the tables, this is an excellent addition to the decorations and it gives the feeling of warmth. Use candles everywhere!

Flowers:

Flowers are magnets for elegance. Many flowers used are: Mini-callas, Pincushion Proteas, Chocolate cosmos, Vines, Orchids, and Red anthuriums. Roses that are deep red and white can be used throughout the decorations. If you’re envisioning romance then use them for your center pieces and add thin tree branches. Use tall glass vases and fill them with gold accents. Leaves can even be applied though out the decorations to highlight the season’s colors.

Favors:

Favors can be presented on each table setting. You can put chocolate shaped leaves wrapped in different colors, Caramel covered apples in clear bags and tied off with rich red ribbon or raffia, Votive candles, Clear bag with mixed nuts tied off with ribbon or Pumpkin spiced soaps wrapped and tied off with raffia. All these have natural autumn colors that will go great with the rest of the décor.

Remember that if you’re having trouble picking out colors utilize nature. Look at the colors of the leaves. At the beginning of fall the leaves will be a different color then the end. Use the proper colors for the time of your wedding. Choose browns that you would see on trees, corn ears, and mixed nuts. Yellows can even be studied from Indian corn along with oranges that you see from pumpkins and squash.
