Cheetah Girls, Sabrina Bryan

Sabrina Bryan is an actor, dancer, and singer. An all-around performer most know as one of The Cheetah Girls.

Born in California, September of ’84, Sabrina Bryan grew up with a dream to be in the movies. With her parents support, she began performing at the age of seven. By 1996, she had landed her first credited role as “Fritzie” in the TV movie Mrs. Santa Claus. She continued to pursue her dream over the next few years accepting bit parts in various television series; including a guest role as “Alisa Cordova” on The Bold and the Beautiful. Sabrina’s big break though came in 2003 with the release of the Disney Channel movie The Cheetah Girls.

The Cheetah Girls movie is based on Deborah Gregory’s young adult books series of the same name. The movie features four teens trying to make it in the music industry. Sabrina Bryan plays the role of “Dorinda”. The rest of the cast includes Raven as “Galleria”, Adrienne Bailon as “Chanel”, and Kiely Williams as “Aquanette”.

The movie and soundtrack were a huge success for the Disney Channel. So naturally, Disney sought to extend the success by forming a singing group and franchising the film.

The Cheetah Girls 2 : When in Spain aired successfully on TV in 2006. And The Cheetah Girls 3 : An Indian Adventure is set to hit the tube next summer.

Sabrina Bryan, Adrienne Bailon, and Kiely Williams formed The Cheetah Girls music group. Absent from the group is Raven who has her own solo music career. The group’s first album, Cheetahlicious Christmas, debuted in 2005. The Cheetah Girls’ second album, TCG, is set to be released September 25, 2007. According to Sabrina Bryan, “one of the greatest things about being part of the Cheetah Girls is all three have a chance to have an effect on young girls’ lives.”

In addition to impacting girls through her direct involvement with The Cheetah Girls, Sabrina Bryan has made an effort to make a positive effect on young girls’ health and happiness through BYOU. BYOU is a fitness-dance DVD created by Sabrina “so girls could have fun learning cool, hip dance moves and get fit at the same time. The choice of title, “BYOU”, is reflective of Sabrina’s desire for tweens and teens to feel as if they can just be themselves. Having sold millions of copies of BYOU, Sabrina plans to release a second BYOU DVD next spring.

Those are not the only plans Sabrina Bryan has in the works: She is also co-writing a fiction book with Julia DeVillers (author of such books as Girlwise: How to Be Confident, Capable, Cool and In Control); is working on a solo album; is set to star in the TV movie Dadnapped; and has been cast in the ABC television show Dancing with the Stars.
