Eucerin Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Sensitive Skin Lotion SPF 15, 60-Day Review

Facial Skin Care, Firm Skin, Sensitive Skin Care, Skin Lotion

Eucerin’s Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Sensitive Skin Lotion SPF 15 claims to be able to moisturize, provide protection from the sun and reduce lines and wrinkles to firm skin. Since I needed all three of these features in a skin-care product, I decided to give it a try. This review was written after using the product for 60 days and addresses based on the product’s claims.

Eucerin products are known to help dry skin. The company describes its products as dermatologist-preferred skin care. Referrals for dermatologists and pediatricians can be found directly on the home page of its website. My primary care doctor has recommended Eucerin products for one of my children as well as myself. We have had excellent results with the products. The Eucerin Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Sensitive Skin Care Lotion “Eucerin Q10” is the first facial skin product I have tried in the Eucerin line and was not a recommendation of my doctor.

What are my facial skin-care needs? I have always had dry skin including my face. Now that I am in my thirties, my skin seems even drier and I have developed “laugh lines” as well a “lag” in the skin just below my eyebrow. Therefore, having an effective moisturizer to help with the dry skin is my first concern. Fine line reduction was my second concern.

What I hoped the product would do. What enticed me to purchase Eucerin Q10 was its’ claim to combat wrinkles and firm skin. Moisturizing my dry skin was a a must. Because of my past success using Eucerin’s products for dry skin on my body, I felt confident Eucerin Q10 would be an effective moisturizer.

What extra enticing benefits lured me to buy the product? Adding sunscreen to moisturizers is an added bonus for me. Sun damage dries the skin. Protecting my face with sunscreen is extremely important to me especially because I have dry skin.

Testing period description. I purchased the product in May of this year. The usage period included late spring and summer. I was not sick during this time and never experienced sun over-exposure.

Description of product. The bottle of Eucerin Q10 that I purchased contains 4 fl. ounces and has a pump type dispenser on top. The product dispenses easily. The directions say “smooth over face and neck every morning after cleansing.” Only a small amount was needed to cover my face and neck. Eucerin Q10 lotion has a creamy texture. It actually has a silky-feel. The product cost just under $8.00.

Eucerin Q-10 is formulated with the Coenzyme Q10 which occurs naturally in the body to combat the negative impact of the aging process. The product is fragrance-free, and oil-free. The product also claims to be safe for sensitive skin.

During the 60-day trial, I noted any changes in my skin in regards to my two main concerns, moisturizing dry skin and minimizing fine lines. In addition, I made notes regarding sun protection.

Did the product moisturize effectively? After applying Eucerin Q10, my skin consistently feels soft to the touch. While Eucerin Q10 moisturized my face, I do not think it is the best moisturizer I have tried. My skin did feel positive effects from the product. However, during the day I found my face feeling “tight” and in need of additional moisture. My skin actually feels much better after the extra moisturizing benefits in my night-time moisturizer. I speculate this might be from the extra ingredients added to combat fine lines.

Did the product reduce fine lines? I have to admit, I was skeptical that I would see a reduction in the lines that have formed on my face. However I have noticed that my face appears firmer and lines appear reduced in the “laugh-line” area. Eucerin Q10 also claims to be safe for sensitive skin. My skin has been diagnosed as “sensitive” since I was very young. I have to be very careful about the types of skin-care products I use. I completely concur that Eucerin Q10 is safe for sensitive skin. The product does not irritate my skin.

Sun Protection Benefits? There have been many occasions this summer when my skin was exposed to the sun and the only sun protection on my face was from Eucerin Q10. Typically, I use a sunscreen developed for the face that is SPF 50. On the days that I simply had Eucerin Q10 which has a SPF 15 rating, I did not experience any sun damage. Certainly, I would recommend applying additional sunscreen after being in water or if exposed to the sun for an extended period of time. However for everyday casual exposure, the products’ sun protection works.

Overall Eucerin Q10 visibly reduces fine lines after using the product for only a week. As time goes on, the line reduction increases. The sun protection is an added bonus.

As I mentioned, my number one priority for a moisturizer is its’ ability to moisturize my dry skin effectively. For me, I would grade this product based on that factor as a B-minus. Average and oily skin types will probably be pleased with the amount of moisturizing the product provides. For those, like me, who have dry skin, you will probably experience “tightness” at some point during the day and the need to put additional moisturizer on. Please note, my testing period was in the summer and I fear that in the middle of the winter when the skin on my face is its’ driest, this problem would intensify. However, once you are pleased with the reduction of fine lines, you might become more tolerant of this. My recommendation is to get a really good night-time moisturizer and be sure to drink lots of water. It is also important to exfoliate but not to over-exfoliate or use excessive force when cleaning the face.

I was pleased with the longevity of the product. You use a very small amount. My four ounce bottle will probably last another 60 days, at least.

My plan is to continue using the product and enjoy the line-reduction benefits. I will also continue using a deeper moisturizer at night. However, it is my guess that in the coldest months of the winter, I will opt for a moisturizer that helps combat the dryness of my skin more effectively and for longer periods of time. This product is also available in a “cream” formula instead of lotion, and perhaps the cream provides additional moisturization although I cannot find information regarding that on the company website.

This review was written based on my usage of the product and was not influenced by others. I am not an employee of Beiersdorf Inc/Eucerin and I did not receive payment for using the product.
