Egg Yolks Are High in Vitamins and Minerals

Nutritional Value

Egg yolks have long been thought to be so high in cholesterol that we have been told we shouldn’t eat too many of them. Doctors have been telling patients for years that they should cut back on the number of eggs they eat each day because it has such a high content of cholesterol that they believed it was one of the reasons that people were having so many cholesterol related health problems. The fact is that egg yolks do have a high level of cholesterol. It probably isn’t the greatest idea to eat a lot of eggs every day. There is one thing that should be considered though.

Egg yolks have a very high level of nutritious vitamins and minerals as well. In fact, the myth that we should only eat the whites of the egg are a gross miscarriage of justice for the yellow runny stuff. Egg yolks have a much higher nutritional value than the egg white, according to CholesterolandHealth.com. They did an extensive article about the egg yolk and it’s nutritional value for human beings. If you were to eat one egg per day, it would give you an unbelievable amount of vitamins and minerals for your entire days allotment as according to the US guidelines for each of the groups necessary for a healthy lifestyle.

Vitamins A, D, E, DHA and AA will be found in an egg yolk to the level of having 100% of the daily nutritional value. That is a high as you can get. Those aren’t the only benefits of the egg yolk though. They are also high in B6, B12 and phosphorus along with a long list of other nutrients. We can’t forget about the very high content of calcium and zinc as well. There is no reason why you can’t enjoy the entire egg when you want to. In fact, it might be a good idea to make a point of eating at least one egg per day to get nearly everything you need to keep you going. I wouldn’t suggest going much higher than two eggs per day though. Anything that is good for us can be turned into something bad if we overdo it. The cholesterol obviously isn’t good for us. Eating eggs in moderation is the key.

That is generally reserved for people who are athletes or possibly someone with a hangover. It is always important to look out after our health in any situation. Diet and exercise are extremely important to our overall health. Learning the truth about the foods that we eat is critical if we want to be at our healthiest at all times. Egg yolks have been hidden behind the completely unhealthy myth for too many years. If we can get the nutritional value that comes from them without overeating them, we reap the greatest benefits from the egg yolk rather than the egg white. The myth has been dispelled. There is nutritional value in the egg white, but not the proportion of nutrition as in the yolk. The best part of all is that there are hundreds of different ways that you can make eggs so that they rarely have to taste exactly as they did the time before. That is just an added bonus to eating the egg, yolk and all.
