Edge’s Greatest WWE TLC Matches

Pay Per View, Tlc

The tables, ladders, and chair matches developed in the WWE after tag teams like the Hardy Boyz and Edge & Christian battled in multiple ladder matches.

After several bloody battles, the three violent weapons have combined to create the annual WWE TLC pay per view.

As Edge battles Kane in a TLC match with the WWE Heavyweight Title on the line, looking back at other TLC matches shows that Edge is one of the best wrestlers with this stipulation.

Wrestlemania X-Seven: Edge and Christian won the first TLC match at Summerslam 2000, but six months later they were at a bigger stage when they entered a rematch against the Dudley Boyz and the Hardy Boyz.

Even though Jeff Hardy stole the show with his Swanton Bomb, it was Edge and Christian that climbed the ladders to win the tag team championship.

TLC V – January 2006: Just a few weeks after Edge cashe din his “Money in the Bank” briefcase and defeated John Cena for the WWE Title, he put that title on the line against long-time rival Ric Flair in a WWE Raw TLC match.

Edge battled back and forth with Flair, eventually making him bleed all over the ring. After Edge was put through a table, he still managed to re-enter the ring, knock Flair off the ladder, and retain his title.

TLC VI – September 2006: Edge and John had an on-going feud for most of 2006 and their battle culminated in a TLC 2006 at the Unforgiven pay per view. Edge was the defending champion and this was John Cena’s first TLC match.

Edge was literally knocked out during this match, but he still fought on until the two wrestlers stood on the same ladder. Cena grabbed Edge, lifted him over his shoulder, and gave him an attitude adjustment through two tables.

In a rare TLC loss, Edge still gave a memorable performance that highlighted the pay per view event.

TLC VII – June 2008: After his last TLC loss, Edge looked to bounce back at the “One Night Night” pay per view, commonly known as “Extreme Rules” today. His opponent was the Undertaker and along with the WWE Heavyweight title, the Undertaker’s career was also on the line.

The Undertaker had little TLC experience, but still fought hard against Edge. In the end, Edge outsmarted the Undertaker, using a five-on-one attack against the Deadman and eventually defeated him by knocking him off the ladder and through four tables.

With the annual TLC pay per view, Edge is sure to be involved in several more TLC matches that will further his legend in the violent match.
