Eat Breakfast with Mickey Mouse & Friends at ‘Ohana at Disney World in Florida

Lilo and Stitch, Mickey Mouse, Polynesian, Tropical Garden

During our recent trip to Disney World in Orlando, Florida, we booked a character breakfast at the ‘Ohana Restaurant, which is located at the Polynesian Restaurant. The Polynesian is located not far from tcketing at Magic Kingdom and can also be reached via the Monorail.

Upon arriving at ‘Ohana for our 7:45 a.m. character breakfast reservations, we were greeted warmly by the staff. We were given bright red leis and a hand our picture taken, which we could opt to purchase later if we wished. We were then given a pager and sat in the lobby to await a free table. The lobby windows provided a great vantage for the Polynesian’s beautifully well-manicured tropical garden below. Our pager went off within less than 10 minutes and we were led to our table by the hostess who asked if we’d been to ‘Ohana before. We told her that we had not, and she lit up even more than her previously perky self. She explained that while we were at ‘Ohana, we would be called cousins, a Hawaiian tradition.

We were seated and greeted almost immediately by our server. Our server was extremely friendly and attentive. He was smiling throughout our entire dining experience and was quick to return to our table to refill our coffee or juice. His was some of the absolute best service we have ever received in our life. We felt valued, appreciated and truly welcome at the ‘Ohana

The all you can eat breakfast is served family style and we never wanted for anything. A basket of fresh Hawaiian bread was placed on our table before any of the other breakfast items arrived. Breakfast consisted of Mickey Mouse waffles, which were light and fluffy and served hot. Someone was always floating through the tables and offering Mickey Mouse waffles to anyone who wanted one. A skillet was set in the middle of our table that included scrambled eggs, spicy sausage, and bacon. Our server brought more bacon out for our bacon loving son. The juice was divine and I had several glasses. It was a mix of orange juice and passion fruit and was sweet without being too sweet. My children rarely drink orange juice, but they drank this juice down like it was going out of style.

While breakfast is served, four characters circulated throughout the room. We were able to snap shots of ourselves and children with Mickey Mouse, Pluto, Lilo and Stitch. Stitch was quite a character and playfully tugged on our son’s Mickey Mouse ears. The characters all spent an adequate amount of time at our table and were all in character at all times. There were no slackers here, these characters really kept in character and appeared to genuinely enthusiastic and to be having fun. Stitch even led the room full of children in a conga line around the room at one point.

Breakfast at ‘Ohana was moderately priced. Including tip, our family of four ate for about $75. Ohana does participate in the Disney Dining plan, but we stayed off site and were not eligible. Overall, I loved ‘Ohana Breakfast Character meal. The food was superb and the characters stayed at your table long enough that you did not feel rushed. The ‘Ohana Character meal is sure to please Mickey Mouse fans, adult and kids alike.

Reservations for ‘Ohana can be made by calling 407-WDW-DINE and can be made 180 days in advance of your visit. Reservations are highly recommended, as walking in without can result in a long wait time if the restaurant is able to accommodate your party.
