Dr Pepper Soda Pops: A Cool Summer Treat

Dr Pepper, Frozen Treats, Sodium Benzoate

While shopping at Walgreens recently, I came across Dr. Pepper Soda Pops. I recently reviewed a Popsicle product where I stated how very much my children enjoy frozen treats on a hot summer day. Knowing that we recently depleted our box of Popsicles, I decided to purchase Dr. Pepper Soda Pops to see if they would appeal to my kids.. Knowing how much they love Dr. Pepper soda, I felt reasonably sure that they would enjoy Dr. Pepper Soda Pops.

Dr. Pepper Soda Pops cost only two dollars for a ten count package. This is a very reasonable price for a box of frozen treats. Each Dr. Pepper freezer pop is two ounces which is the perfect size for my two little girls. The pops are in a plastic pouch which needs to be cut open at the top. After cutting open the top, the Dr. Pepper freezer pop gets pushed up as the treat gets eaten. A parent should always slit the top of the pouch so that the child does not cut him or herself.

Dr. Pepper Soda Pops contain only thirty five calories in each treat. There is no Fat or Sodium in this product. Each pop contains eight grams of Sugar and eight grams of Carbohydrates. Dr. Pepper Soda Pops contains Water and High Fructose Corn Syrup. This product also contains less than two percent of Natural and Artificial Flavors, Citric Acid, Caramel Color, Mono sodium Phosphate, Lactic Acid, Sodium Benzoate and Potassium Sorbate.

After taking the box of Dr. Pepper Soda Pops home, I immediately put it in the freezer. I expected the pops to be ready in two hours when my children came home from school, but after checking them, I found that only a few of the freezer pops were frozen all the way through. Most were mushy and not ready to eat. I took the freezer pops out of the box and laid them out flat. After doing this, the Dr. Pepper Soda Pops were ready to go within a half hour. I would suggest doing the same when purchasing this product so you do not have any impatient children jumping up and down in front of the refrigerator!

My children were very pleased with the Dr. Pepper Soda Pops. I snuck a taste from my older daughter and these treats are very tasty and refreshing! They definitely taste like Dr. Pepper soda, albeit a bit watered down. My girls happily enjoyed these treats over the next few days and the next time I was in Walgreens I picked up another two boxes to keep as a cool frozen treat after school.

Overall, I would rate Dr. Pepper Soda Pops four out five stars. I have only seen this product at Walgreens, but would assume it is available in other stores as well. If your children enjoy the flavor of Dr. Pepper soda, they will certainly enjoy this cool summer treat.
