Enough satin cloth in your accent color to cover the box
2″ gold ribbon
Large gold bow (pre-made or make your own)
Measuring tape
Straight pins
Hot glue gun and glue sticks or fabric glue
Spray on adhesive
Scissors
Craft blade

How to make a wedding card box accented with a bold, gold ribbon.

Cover your box and lid with the satin cloth. Use a spray on adhesive glue or fabric glue for best results.

Glue ribbon around the length and width of the box. Attach the ribbon to the box using hot glue.

Attach ribbon around the lid separately, then, hot glue the large gold bow on top of the wedding card box.

Cut a 10″ x ¼” slit in the top of the box. Make the cut large enough that cards will easily pass through it. Use a sharp cutting blade. Fabric glue can be used to glue down a neat edge around the opening.

In three easy steps you will have made a beautiful and functional card box. It can be used to keep wedding cards or other trinkets and novelties from your wedding.

Using the instructions for making the box above work to the point of covering the box in your wedding’s color. You will use gold for the trimmings on the wedding card box.

How to create a faux wedding cake card, wish, and money box.
Using paint and ribbons design a three tier, faux wedding cake. Ideally, you will pain the boxes using the same design as your wedding cake. Be sure to include the use of gold and accent wedding colors.

Stack the boxes in descending order by size. Be sure to alternate the use of gold with your other wedding colors in creating your wedding card / money box.

Carefully cut a slit large enough for wedding cards in the second and third tier of the cake. Cut neatly. Trim with ribbon if necessary to hide jagged edges.
